It must be Monday...hehehe. This thread has turned into the proverbial punching bag for everyone's frutstrations. Hopefully everyone's thrown their punches and feel better for it. Me, I hit the gym during lunch - it took all the fight out of me...hehehe. Cheers people! Monday is almost over!

Nah, it's a 24/7 thing for me. I'm the original Misanthropic #######. I have very strong opinions, and am willing to voice them freely whether wanted or not. lol

Just to add my personal experience, I was a member of VJ for several months before I got up the nerve to post. Before ever posting, I used PMs to contact people I felt were knowledgeable, from reading their posts. After doing as much research as possible, only then would I ask questions, and usually only in regional specific threads.

Some people like to read, research, and fully understand the process. Then again, there are some people who want to have the whole thing spoon fed to them. It is those people that annoy me. If they want someone else to do everything for them, then they should go out and hire someone. I don’t consider VJ to be a pro bono immigration site. It is here to help and guide people. Not for people to come and free load.

When it comes to processing times… that is always a sensitive subject here. At one point, most people going through the VSC were afraid to post anything positive because everyone else would jump on them for how fast their cases were being processed. There is always someone out there that has waited longer than you, or been processed faster than you. That’s just the way it goes.

Lastly, this is not the place to post a thread like this. It belongs in OT, not in the K-1 forum.

And why address the whole forum and not stick to the original post ?

It's called attention-whoring...

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

It takes a ceartain level of maturity in order for people to co-exist with others. Unfortunatly many lack that and think being condesending, rude, and down right arrogant is ok.

This is what has happened here, and some of those who are of the above character have posted in this thread. You know who you are, otherwise you wouldn't be getting so defensive when someone calls you on your rudeness.

This is a forum. One in which many people from all walks of life may eventually find on their Visa Journey. Hence the name. Taking anything but a central position on how to run it will ruin VJ entirely. What I mean to say is, we must be willing to answer the same questions often to those who have them. FAQ's are available to reference in a link form in the message rather than giving a snide, useless reply because it's "old news". You cannot have an elitist attitude toward what is a very novice situation for many coming into this. That is counter intuitive to the intentions of what VJ is for.

That includes forcing people to read the FAQ before being able to post. Or taking the attitude that you wont help them until they already know everything (makes it pointless to even have this forum). People have a natural tendancy of forgetting what it was like when they first start something, and for some reason try to pretend that they too didn't do the same thing or ask the same question that unbeknownst to them was answered somewhere else. Where is the FAQ on how to use the FAQ? Anyone? After nearly 2 years here, both part not being registered, and then being registered a few months before I sent in the papers, I have yet to see one. Except maybe what personal interaction from a forum can do to direct people to the right information (to the best of our knowledge and the websites knowledge).

The fact of the matter is, we need to cater with neutrality to everyone. This again requires a level of understanding, meekness, and maturity that unfortunatly even many here lack. But we, at the same time, need to be mature enough to let the "social n00bs" be immature too regardless of how long they have been here posting. Think Yin and Yang.

Bravo! Akin to human behavior when inside the safety of one's automobile, being behind a computer screen, people have a tendency to lose their sense of civility.

Consider the man on horseback, and I have been a man on horseback for most of my life. Well, mostly he is a good man, but there is a change in him as soon as he mounts. Every man on horseback is an arrogant man, however gentle he may be on foot. The man in the automobile is one thousand times as dangerous. ~ R.A. Lafferty

All the more reason to accept the fact that we will never be able to change the way people behave on an internet forum. So whether we like it or not, we have to just put up with the snide remarks, try to get the advice we need, and move on.

I'm skipping right to posting after reading half a page, even though that is not my style usually.

Mandi, the way I see it, it's really not realistic to expect to come here and start demanding things & take the huff when it's not instantly handed to you. FWIW, I too am among the people who have no clue what you're talking about as I haven't seen the thread in question. But if you're looking for something like that, I would say hire an attorney. Yes, there are ppl here that have been where you are & can & will offer assistance....but they are not paid employees here to handle what you want when you want. To make it out that we are a bunch of rude unhelpful people is really quite nasty & untrue to paint us all with the same brush. You can read the pages upon pages of posts where we ban together to help each other. This is a community.

The good thing about a message board is that it's the written word. And theres a nifty little button at the top called 'search'

I'm sorry to be so harsh, but I think the criticism you're so quick to dole out is rude & unneccessary. The answers are all right here...and blasting the lot of us for not instantly jumping to your attention is really not going to help anything, is it?

Good luck with your journey!
