so true.

Many times I try not to let snippy posts get to me, but they do. But VJ is my only connection to others going thru this....

Um, I think everyone should cut the OP some slack--they are obviously new to the process--some of us on here are repeat-visa-petitioners, or otherwise internet-bookworms about Immigration Law. Not everyone has the same level of patience--nor should this be an expectation. And to post things such as why are you complaining our case has been stuck in so and so service center for so many more days than yours--is really irrelevant---since we all know that the visas are case by case at embassy by embassy, country by country, service center by service center--and even recent IMBRA changes etc. make the whole thing take a step back or forward--so try not to play the playground game of trying to showoff how better or worse you are, like hey I am worse off then you so quit your complaining.

Instead: be polite and just say something to the effect--most cases take about 6 months or so--please review recent timelines for more details on how long your case might take.

I, as a fairly new newbie myself, would never want to invalidate your hurt feelings by adding insult to an obviously felt injury by saying I'm shocked at what you wrote. I've lived too long, seen too much, and felt too much myself to ever want to brush off something someone has obviously taken the time to think through before writing about it. I've read through some things and seen a few comments here and there about how people posted or repeated themselves and I only assumed the repeat was from the same inexperience I have using a forum and the one needing to be condescending has his/her own issues. We should think their personal experiences should never be forgotten too, shared and used to help others along the way. These are the ones that should be brushed off because they are meaningless in the long run when compared to those of us that are feeling what you feel. Write to me anytime you like, if you want. I wish you well in your process and you'll stay in my thoughts.

I don't think anyone meant to treat you bad or hurt your feelings. You will always come across know-it-alls, no matter where you go. You shouldn't get so worked up over it, just brush it off and don't let it bother you so much and realize that people ARE here to help and DO care. I too asked a dumb IMBRA question and received a somewhat snotty answer from a senior member that made me feel very stupid. But I realized how truly dumb my question was, and that maybe I should have read more before I opened my mouth. I don't believe anyone meant to hurt my feelings.

What's this all about?

The title in caps and then a tongue-lashing? Was what happened REALLY that important?

If you are as new as you say you are, I would like to offer (with the best of intentions) a word of advice. You need to develop a much-thicker skin and acquire some much needed patience. You are about to go down a road that takes about 5 years in total to travel. And that's if your loved one decides to become a citizen. If they don't you are looking at dealing with USCIS and DHS the rest of your life.

I'm sure nobody meant any personal insult to you and I'm doubly certain your reaction is overblown.

Sorry, but that's the facts.

Ok, I have been reading your topics and I am really wondering, who has been rude to you or was even laughing at your question.

I was reading about your last question and didn't reply because I felt someone already gave a pretty good answer to your question.

I am sorry, you are feeling offended or misunderstood, but reading this thread here, made me pretty upset.

You don't refer to a certain topic, noone really knows what exactly you are talking about.

If you have a problem with a reply, I think you should adress it right there in the threat to the person you feel offended by.

We do try to support each other here and like you said, we all have one thing in common: Our love is far away (well, was far away for the ones who made it!!) but that is probably pretty much all we have in common.

Right now I just have to wonder, what kind of replies and support you are looking for on here!??

I have been browsing this forum for 2 months now, and it has become an invaluable source of information with regards to immigration issues. Thus far, I have been able to learn many new aspects of this procedure, and have noted that most are extremely courteous and helpful towards others with questions. After reading your initial post and subsequent complaint, I was shocked at your nerve to criticize others. As someone who has been waiting 124 long days for a response to my petition, it really bothers me to hear you complain that you havent received a response within 30 days, and I can fully understand others reactions as well. Bottom line, youre not the only one in agony over being apart from your loved one, and criticizing others here seems akin to biting the hand that feeds you.

HI there,

well I read the posting. I dont consider it as laughing at you. It is just...well....how to say that? People have been waiting for two years and longer and have been apart from their loved ones for such a long time. So it is quite a bit hard to understand a complaint about not getting an approval within 30 days???!! I was anxious the first time as well but after reading many posts (including posts where people have been seperated for months and even years) I calmed down.

My K3 petition status hasnt changed for almost 3 months now. We are all in the same both, you already recognized that...

For people who have been waiting for months and even years for an approval it just seems ... help me out here...i dont find the right word.....

Try not to overreact so much. Nobody wants to be rude or something, but understandable many peeps are frustrated and emotional about the IMBRA thing....and you and me i.e. are still lucky since we didnt get our already scheduled interview cancelled or APPROVED!!! petition sent back to the NVC.

hang in there. ;) You will also receive news on your case and so will others.

Greets Isabel

I'd recommend that the OP learn to use the tools already available at VJ to answer the Frequently Asked Questions. That way she won't have to worry about asking questions that can be perceived as ridiculous.

Things like the timelines, processing times, Guides and Embassy-specific info at the top of every page would've helped her to see that CSC takes several months for NOA2.

Reading other posts is a good way to get information too. The message boards should be the post-of-last-resort, when you can't figure it out on your own. Caveat: you should at least TRY to find the info on your own first.
