I was a huge hockey fan......... until the lockout. I had season tickets every year and would try to go to road games. But after the lockout, I just lost all taste for the game. I really hated all the rules changes and the structure of things. Coincidentally, this is when my favorite team (LA Kings) decided that they wanted to make money and not really compete. I still wear my Probert (greatest hockey player EVAR!!!) sweater with pride, and will watch games, but only on ESPN Classic.

See Ottawa made a move, but I don't expect to see any block busters!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Lol I remember growing up here (only about 30-40 minutes from Detroit) and watching Probert beat people up and get banned from entering Canada haha

Yeah unfortunately Pronger was taken off the market so I'm not thinking they'll be too much. I am hearing that Smyth might go to San Jose for Cheechoo but I'd be disappointed if we lost him for sure.

I know for sure that Cheechoo would be really dissapointed if he left San Jose because thats the team he has dreamt of playinig for since he was a kid.

Donne moi une poptart!

Last I heard, Cheechoo is not being shopped.

I hate the rumour of Bieksa, Raymond and a 1st rounder for Bouwmeester. If that deal goes down, I'll probably cry. Bieksa is my FAVOURITE! Plus, that's way too much to give up for a rental player.

As a Sens fan in Sabres country this year has been rough....The is rumors of Spezza going somewhere, as a Sens fan, I would give up Spezza for Bouwmeester.

No longer in the hands of the USCIS, for my wife at least, next up MIL.

Yeah just listening to Coach's Corner every weekend it's obvious that Monsieur Cherry hasn't been a fan of Spezza's lately. He can score but he does seem to be giving up a bit this year.

My boys just traded Leopold back to the Flames for a decent return. We need draft picks so I'm big on this one but I really liked Leopold. Poor guy had some HORRIBLE luck with injuries but finally started to come back.

Don Cherry seems to be putting designer ties on a little tight lately, but as far as his opinion of Spezza. He has always been critical of Spezza. He always wants more out of him. Maybe a change in location can bring it out. Just an opinion.

I don't understand why the Avs took Nycholat in that trade. They could've picked him up from waivers the other day if they wanted to. Hmmm...

Unrelated to the trade deadline, but still hockey related none the less. I have the absolute worst luck in buying hockey sweaters. First one I got, Was a Detroit Red Wings sweater with 24 and Probert name on it for my birthday in 1993. Next year, he signed with the Blackhawks. The next year for x-mas, I had begged my parents for years for a Nordiques sweater. They got me one for X-mas in 1994, and then they transformed into the Avalanche. Several years later, I decided to get myself one for the LA Kings. I had season tickets and was a huge fan. My favorite player was Adam Deadmarsh. I shelled out the $291 for the official jersey, and then he gets a concussion 2 months later and career done.
