my fiancee is currently laid off right now but he is receiving unemployment which is $350 per week and subpay which is $300.

is this okay to pass the minimum poverty level?

we are also going to have a co sponsor. i know the co sponsor will depend more likely with the consul..

in additional, his ITR for 2006 and 2007 are of above poverty level..

is this good?

also, Dan has requested for the extension of his ITR 2008.what if the interview is after April 15, should we wait before we get the ITR 2008?

thank you

ps. do we still need to get employment letter even if he is unemployed?

In theory, yes. This has been bandied about these forums before. Unemployment IS income. It is claimed as income and income taxes are paid on it. That much is known and settled. I do no tknow what "subpay" is. Assuming an income of $650 per week, you easily qualify enough income for a family of 2.

Not the problem. Unemployment is temporary income, it has an expiration date. I do not think we have a definitive answer and since consualtes can vary on this and since Phillipines is actually one of the harder consulates to deal with, I can only say I advise you to get a co-sponsor.

More and more, any type of job seems temporary, maybe less stable than unemployment, but jobs are accepted and it is doubtful unemployment alone would be. If your fiance cannot secure regular employment before the interview, arrange a co-sponsor

I certainly would not voluntarily put forth that information unless of course requested to do so....

YMMV
