DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE PROOF OF WEDDING PLANS AT INTERVIEW?

My fiance and I have decided that we want to have something small, just him and I on the beach. We may just head down to Miami within a week or so after I am granted a visa. Only thing is, that we cannot make any plans until I know when that is? Plus it won't take much planning except for a license and a minister?

Do you need to have proof of a certificate?

Thanks :)

A certificate of "your marriage plans"? No, you don't need anything. You don't even need an engagement ring.

As far as I know that except for another letter of intent that would be addressed to the consulate, ( the same kind that went into the initial package) you wouldn't need other proof. I'm not sure if the letter should be from both of you or just your fiance. Any marriage intent that you sent with your package, would be at the consulate when they receive the I - 129F as well. Just make sure you bring additional proof of relationship in case that's asked for!! :star:

Yes. You need to have a letter saying you plan to marry within 90 days of admission. Basically an updated version of the one you sent with the petition. That is all the "plans" you have to provide. ANY legal marriage will meet the qualifications.

Is this the DS156K? where it is signed in front of the consulate officer?

No. That is a separate form signed at the consulate.

For your intent letters you can take the letters you sent with your I-129 filing, change the date, and hand them over at the interview. Nothing to it. Since it has been several months since the I-129f filing, they just want to re-affirm you still have the intent to marry within 90 days
