I made an appointment for the medical exam. Since I don't ever go to doctors, I'm actually really nervous! I've been googling about the medical exam, and it seems like you have to take off your clothes! Does that mean you have to be completely naked in front of the doctor? If someone could post their experience of the medical exam, I'd really appreciate it!

that is not necessary to be naked .i think .yesterday I did my fisical ..and she just check me ..like my eyes ,ears, not much ...but if the doctor request and you don`t fell confortable, you can always ask for a nurser to be present ..but don`t worrie to much about it ..good luck !!!

i had my medical exam for AOS last week, didnt take off my clothes. i think you only need the complete physical exam when you are still outside the U.S. If you look at form I-693, i dont think there is a portion where they ask for the actual physical exam. USCIS is after communicable diseases, drug abuse, mental disorder and vaccination. all of these will be seen thru blood test (i thnk) and not by taking your clothes off. ofcourse i can be wrong on this, feel free to correct me.

the only part of clothing i took off was my sweater so the nurse can get my blood pressure. :)

OK Anselis. I am assuming you are doing medical in US & you are a female. Its a invisible rule for a male they have to see certain organs closely to determine certain things. My husband had to be naked and the doctor was male. I dnt think he wd have any problem in case of a female doctor too .... as far as i know him. ^_^ Anyways he will check your blood pressure, take your blood, see your eyes , tongue etc and give u a shot at ur hand under skin . They wd say it wd get red and etc and to come back to them . Based on what he sees the 2nd day he wd pescribe a chest xray for confirming that u have TB or not. based on the xray he wd give you the I-693 filled. He shd give you an option either to take the vaccination shots from them ( which is costly ) OR they wd give you the address of the state dept of health downtown where you can get the vac shots very very cheap and get a vaccination record paper. His was $12. You show your doc that paper and he wd put the info in the I-693. Now he wd give you a sealed envelope and a copy to you so that you can reproduce in case USCIS looses it. When submitting you attach copy of the vaccination record ( from state dept) and the sealed envelope. Or if you are taking the shots from the doc he wd put that in the envelope itself. Hope this helps. I understand why you dnt like docs ....just get over with this. :D
