They wont require vaccinations until after the baby is born. It is well known that vaccinating during pregnancy causes birth defects

Some vaccines are okay to do while pregnant while others arent. Have a look here: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/preg-guide.htm#women

Do you know which vaccine/s she is missing?

I would not allow my wife to undergo any vaccination while she is preggy. They will not require it now and will simply require that she have it done when she gets to USA.

Well, in her country record keeping is pretty bad so although she remembers some she won't have any papers with her. Do you think it is different between K visa and IR/CR1 visa? As far as I remember if you do non-immigrant visa they're not require you to have vaccinations until you get to US.

I'm sure the doctor can provide a letter stating that your wife cannot have certain vaccinations because she is pregnant. I do not see why the US/Embassy will have a problem with that - especially if she already has records of previous vaccinations.

The doctor is right in not giving her vaccinations because she's pregnant. She should also not be getting any x-rays done. He will also mention it in her medical and she will be alright. Congratulations!

Hey there, I have few questions here. Besides the tetanus shot, I didn't have the X-ray and some required vaccinations done (they're waived) prior to my K1 Visa approval back in Singapore because I was 17-week pregnant.

Now I am about 28-week pregnant, and we'll be filing the AOS real soon,

1.) What am I supposed to do with the I-693 when I turn in the AOS application? Do I need to see a civil surgeon to transcribe some of my already taken vaccinations such as MMR, polio, BCG, Hep B and etc when I was young? I have a copy of my vaccination record (most are waived) when I did my medical exam for K1 Visa. Do I need to show it to the civil surgeon and attach it together with I-693?

2.) Will those required vaccinations, TB test and X-ray for AOS be waived too? Or the civil surgeon will advise me to file in AOS only after I give birth? I am due in May.

3.) Will my AOS application be rejected because of not complying with the vaccination requirements?

Please enlighten me. Thank you.

The record-keeping in Indonesia is as good as the record-keeping here, except the immunization card probably isn't saved by some families there. My wife's card looked a lot like the cards I have for my children in the US. He (the doctor) is probably with-holding the MMR, which as I recall was not a standard vaccination in Indonesia anyway. This vaccine (or any exposure of a pregnant mother to measles) can cause severe birth defects. He is following CDC guidelines. He will enter her pregnancy on her medical report, send it to the embassy, and she should be fine. I am sending you a PM with an email contact in the IV section Jakarta and you can ask them how they handle this particular issue. RE-congrats btw
