So I finished my medical today, went pretty smooth I think. As long as everything is good with the xray and blood test I should get my results in the mail on Wednesday or Thursday. Now if only I could get an interview date!!!

Hi Danu,

Just wondering...I was just looking at your comments and it seems that we have similarities. We weren't entered into the system until July 29 (probably due to address change), and then we got touched again on July 30. It still says "pending" and there have been no touches since. You said you got your NOA2 a couple of days later? Thanks.

I can confirm that Danu did get her noa2. Otherwise she would not have been able to have her medical a few days ago. Keep in mind..this forum thread is for California. you are in Vermont..and Vermont is behind in approvals. March is only getting started for you guys i believe. Hopefully you'll get yours soon too.

also not everyone has their online status updated..im lucky in that mine updated every single touch and approval at the end. but up until that point i was clueless.

Well, it looks like NVC is on a roll. They got our case last week Thursday (August 6), informing me that it wouldn't be there longer then a week.

When I called again to check yesterday afternoon, they kindly told me that it has already been forwarded to the US Embassy last week Friday (August 7).

I got someone new to bug now! *checks for the embassy's email address*

So to everyone whose case is at or near NVC, it looks like they're processing at great speed now. Good luck to you all.

I sent off for my police check yesterday, so that's all done and out of the way now. Thanks to those who sent me a PM with advice about that. :)

Still waiting to hear from the embassy. I hope it's soon. My guy goes home in a month and I'm beginning to feel the pre-going-home blues. :( It'd be nice to know we had an interview date, even if it ends up being after he goes back home.

I know exactly how you feel. It took our file 20 days to get to the NVC after receiving our NOA2 from CSC.

After many delays since then, we're finally at the medical and interview stage. It won't be long and you'll get there too!

You and me both Kimbear. I called yesterday as well and they have yet to receive it.

I'll be sure to let you know when they get mine, as you will probably be the day after or the same day.

I bet they sent ours together. lol

Yup yup, there were a few of us that didn't show up on the system until the day we got approved, and then the NOA2 came in the mail the same week...now he lives near CAS so the mail only look like 3-4 days to get to him, but its possible thats what happened to you too!

I got my medical back, no problems...thank goodness! The xray is kind of neat to look at. Wish I could check the medical report to see what they wrote  Come on Montreal....you're all I'm waiting on now!

CSC responded to the inquiry made by my congress rep with:

The processing of the case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that the case is not yet ready for a decision, as the required investigation into the background remains open. Until the background investigation is completed, we cannot move forward on the case. These background checks are required to be completed on all applicants who apply for the immigration benefit you are seeking. We will make every effort to make a decision on this case as soon as the background checks are complete. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 90 days of this letter, you may contact us.

Is there a way I can check into the background investigation to see where it's hung up at or any way to check on it at all? Is there anyone that knows or somewhere on the net that actually shows all the things they check when doing a K1 visa? I know there isn't much I can do but I just wanted to see where it's hung up or even try to understand what part of the process is causing the delay. I mean, for all I know, CSC could have just sent it off and now they are throwing it on the people that do the background check saying they are delaying the process.

Thanks

Reunited for good and it feels so good!

Binow..that is what they told me and jome. however they said specifically "fbi background check on us petitioner" and no there is nothing you can do to check that or look into it. however a week later i had my approval and a couple days after jome was told that he had his approval as well.

in our cases..i think it was a lie told to our congressman, cuz the one month it takes for the background check already happend or we would not have gotten the approval so fast after the inquiry. i think CSC is just giving that as a std reply to any govermental inquiries. the only thing you can do is ask your congressman /senator to keep checking up on it for you.

i wish you luck and hopefully you will get a touch / approval soon. i had 3 touches after my congressman contacted them. Good luck to you. i'll keep my fingers crossed.

heh ya tomorrow i'm a call again to see if they have it. from looking at timelines some get it sent to nvc in 4 days others more. ill just keep calling.. i tried the "prefered email" and got zero reply yet.

Binow -

After my senator inquired into the case, they sent me a follow up email that said exactly the same thing. EXACTLY.

Our case was approved the next day. Hopefully the inquiry will speed things up.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. Seems this is about the same as calling and getting the script read to me. Have read on here that several have gotten the exact same email as well. Hopefully the Congress rep calling actually got them to dust it off and actually look at it and get it into the process. We'll see.

Yes, it seems to be almost exactly the same situation...reading from a script...with the significant difference that this script also includes some action and not just a monologue. :) I'm still waiting/hoping/expecting to see my approval in the next couple of days, but my file has been "touched" three times since my Congressional aide made contact after no activity for 5 months.

Best of luck to you!

how do people find out that their case has been touched? people seem to update that their case was touched on such and such date etc. i haven't seen any change on my online status, both the last updated date and all the info inside it are still the same since last four and half months.
