Thanks for all the congrats guys :)

so just a quick question..have any of you guys have more touches after the email saying your approval notice was sent?

Just noticed our date changed again yesterday the 9th..approval was done on 7th and we got email the 8th. wondering what the extra touch was for? i'm prolly just paranoid lol.

Many congrats to Jomegared and Kimbear. That's awesome news for you, and also gives great hope to Ingrith and me.

Our Congressional aide said that she usually gets a reply within 2-3 days from CSC, and she inquired on Friday, so I'm hoping we'll get some action this week, and really, really hoping for an approval before next weekend so we can go out and get drunk before she boards the plane back to Panama Saturday morning. :)

We're still holding out hope that we can actually get married as planned on October 10th. I realize now how optimistic this date was, but it really really could happen. It's been a great day in general (well, except for the oppressive heat and humidity finally making it to central Illinois over the weekend). :)

And to any March filers out there who haven't yet gotten their NOA2....CONTACT YOUR CONGRESSMAN! It does seem to work, and contrary to the "party line," it seems you don't even have to wait for the magical, mystical (imaginary) 5-month date to pass to get some satisfaction.

congrats to both of you jomegard and kimbear. happy the wait for you is over. :)

How you doing Franziska? I see from your timeline that you have returned packet 3. That's good news! You are one step closer to getting the interview. I hope things are going well for you!

I was finally able to see a package being sent to Frankfurt, germany. I got all the forms together to be ready to send the stuff to the embassy. I think it would be great if the embassies would have an electronic system besides just sending out a letter. it would make things a couple of days faster. It was strange to know that they have our petition, but I couldn't really send anything yet. so on friday I got my letter. thought they would send me a packet of stuff, but i just got a letter saying they got our approved petition and that I should go online to see what the next steps are.

I paid little extra postage so I will get notified when they recieve my package. I sent a letter asking for an interview appointment as soon as possible. hope they don't mind. I am still waiting on the affidavit of support from my fiancee. keep thinking what if frankfurt gives me an interview next week and I don't have his mail yet. but pretty sure it won't be that fast. although looking at the timelines of other german's, they got their interview around 2 weeks after packet 4. we'll see.

how are you doing? Saw you got your interview date. congrats :) maybe in the end we will be on the same timeline again. sept. 1. would be a great date for an interview appointment for me.

Congratulations Jomegard and Kimbear!!! I'm really happy for you guys!

I'm a little disappointed, I'm 10 days close to the 5 month mark and nothing yet. I'm definitely looking into contacting the congressman. How did you guys do it? Phone, email, letter? Should I wait for the 5 months or should I go ahead and contact them now?

Also, my fiance is military and has moved around the US and overseas a lot, so that's why this probably takes so long... Do you think calling the Military help line would help more than inquiring at USCIS?

I'm a bit irked that we've (apparently) had a postal strike here in England. Had to go out of town for the weekend, but was hoping to come home and find a nice letter from the embassy waiting for me when I got back. Unfortunately, not.

Maybe this week. Waiting is tough, and reading all of these horror stories on visajourney makes me nervous. Our case seems to have proceeded pretty smoothly so far, but I just can't help expecting the worst.

Congratulations to those of you that were approved recently.

definately try and call your military line..maybe they can do somthing, if not call your congressman. it does seem to work as it has for both me and jome. do not wait for 5 months..figure it takes a couple days for the congressmant to contact uscis and then a week minimum for them to get back to the congressman..so thats two weeks right there..by then it will be 5 months.

we went to the website, printed out the authorization form filled it in and faxed it back.

We are doing really well..just taking care of last minute things like scheduling the medical and going over our papers again to be sure nothing is missing. I can't believe we are less than a month away from the interview. We also did not get a packet of paperwork for packet 4 just a letter with the appointment date which was sent to ME not him, but I have been told that he will be receiving a letter as well (per other Brasilian VJ members). We already downloaded all the forms and filled them in while I was there in July. He has the police certificates and everything else, just waiting on the medical which will hopefully be around the 24th. He has to fly to Rio for both the medical and the interview, so he is going down a week early to take care of that. I am getting anxious to be done with all of this and then YEAH start AOS. lol. Does it ever end? Good luck getting a quick interview. Sound like Frankfurt is moving pretty quickly. I wish the embassy had an online tracking system too. Would make things much easier. If you are still waiting on the Aff of Support, I sent mine via express mail for not too much money (I think $27 as opposed to the $79 some places charge), and it got there in less than a week. If you need it fast, that is the way to go. Just have your fiance ask at the post office. Good luck with everything! That would be awesome if the interviews were on the same day!

how are you doing? Saw you got your interview date. congrats :) maybe in the end we will be on the same timeline again. sept. 1. would be a great date for an interview appointment for me.

Well, it seems we've used up all of our lifelines for the time being, and my fingers are crossed that we have an experience similar to Kimbear.

I just got off the phone with the congressional aide who was told that our file has been in background check since June and that it would take up to 90 days.

Personally, I think the "background check" line is kind of like their "5 months" line....it's their standard response, with the key difference being that a congressional contact usually generates some actual movement on the case in addition to the line of BS. On a side note, she suggested while stopping just short of recommending that, as long as she's here, we could get married and file for AOS and that, as long as she didn't over-stay her visa in the process, the only repercussion would be possible difficulty in getting travel visas for her family to visit here. (She specifically said it's not a deportable offense.) That's not my understanding based on the information I've seen here, and after all of this waiting, I'm not really inclined to test her assertion.

I'll be watching my inbox even more intently over the course of the next couple of days to see if we get that magical touch.

Will definitely keep you all updated so those still waiting know how big a grain of salt to take with the mis-information spouted by USCIS. Today has been a low point in terms of faith and patience, especially on Ingrith's end, so please keep us in your thoughts, prayers, whatever.

oww...that is complete utter BS..thats more or less what we are going through..but we didn't get that much detailed info from the congressman :( just that our case was in FBI..i'm guessing our two touches on july 31, was cuz of congress calling and making them pull file off of dusty shelf, and 2nd was to give to fbi.

blurgh.ya we were sposed to get married in january 09..but we didn't knwo about visa process back then..now i wish we had of :(

on a brighter note..i got another touch today..i can only hope this means we are out of fbi check...now i'm j ust waiting for more bad news..in the form of an RFE, or denial or something else..:( i just have this gut feeling..blurgh!

Vegabond: i think it's in the FAQ for k1. what the usc has to send etc. bascially i134 filled out, for usc and co sponsor if necesary, letter from work for the usc staing job title gross earnings how long you have worked there and in what capacity. also, tax transcripts w2's for last 3 years (not sure if is necessary for k1 but hey why not) and a letter from bank with total deposits for the last year with current balance.

complte original copy of entier 129f pkg, copy of noa2, proof of ongoing relationship, and i guess anything specific to the ukraine.

Gary&Alla have very good info for that area so you might wanna post in the regional forum and check with him he has some contacts there too from what i have read.

Mariposa: Don't worry i'm sure yours is comming soon! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and giving you good vibes!! who knows..CSC is getting a lot of congressional inquiries from us marchies..maybe they will dedicate someone to getting the rest of you approved !!!
