Kim darlin, have you guys tried calling NVC, just to see if it doesn't show up approved but already got passed on? I know of at least one member who found out their approval this way.

yep..david called nvc 3 times so far...funny thing was they told him a month ago it would be "this week the approval based on the other apps they got from CSC". He finally got to speak to a supervisor yesterday. that was useless. and he got the letter from his congressman saying they are looking into it and would get back to us with no time limit. checked today expecting to at least see a touch after all that..and nothing. he asked if there was an rfe..some sort of ap and they just said no your pending your pending your pending..each person said word for word exactly the same thing. like they were reading off a book.

Well, that's about the worst news I've heard so far. I'm resisting as long as possible to go the "congressman contact" route, just in case there's some kind of vindictive backlash, but nearing the 5-month mark, it's getting harder and harder just to sit and do nothing. Called the NVC a few days ago just to make sure they didn't have our case, but alas, it's still un-touched and un-moved since the 8th of March. :(

It's easier having Ingrith here with me, but that situation will change again in 2 weeks. It's ridiculous that they're just making us wait with no possibility for an inquiry. Come on, folks...it's not like we're waiting for a rebate check or something....this is the rest of our lives on hold! :bonk:

according to the ombudsmand report for 2009 uscis has already lost 66 case files this year alone. i'm not very hopeful.

I'm trying to resist calling DOS again to check if an interview has been set yet. I've told myself I should wait until after my medical (which would be about 4 weeks since they got my paperwork and request, but its hard. I just want to know and in my mind its like, yeah but maybe its already been set, and they lost my P3 so whats to say P4 doesnt get lost too? I'm driving myself crazy!!

My senator's assistant just called my father yesterday asking where my request was to push the USCIS along. If you have a congressman willing to help you with your application I would highly recommend doing it. Vindictive backlash is completely unreasonable. Remember, they work for us. In my opinion, it would get someone to locate the application at least and maybe even push it through a little. The only reason I didnt do it sooner was because of the 5 month mark, but remember, that mark is to have the petition completed by then.

No harm trying to find out, through a gov't offical, if its close or not.

Hang in there. Your're close.

To clarify.....I did contact my Senator and they were more than happy to check for me.

We just got notice from the NVC that our case is now being forwarded to the US embassy in London within the next seven days. Wow! Things are moving fast. I'm getting really nervous!

Yay! This is a good thing. Be sure to update your timeline! :)

Done. :)

Thanks for reminding me about that, for some reason I'd forgotten their was a place on the timeline for those dates.

kimbear, you are not alone in waiting... we are still waiting as well and im getting very scared that they might have misplaced/lost our case... in about 2 weeks it would have been a full 5 months since we received our NOA1 and I checked the uscis website and it says that these caes are being processed within a 5 month period now...

whats sad is i keep watching my time line go backwards..like now it's back to being approved in june cuz that is how many noa2 were entered from ppl who apped afterwards. :(

i just hope the senator managed to tell them to "get the ball rolling". this particualr guy has had other issues with uscis and has talked to them from the research i did. and i'm sick of hearing within timeframe call after 5 months...cuz ofbiously we arne't in their timeframe now if they are approving ppl who apped on april 27th..:(

Thanks for the encouragement. I've started to reach out to a friend who's politically active, to see if I can get a direct point of contact in my Senator's office.

After calling the mis-information line, I will most certainly not be bothering with the "official" method of requesting an inquiry once my file reaches the 5-month point (and then waiting up to 60 days for a response to that). It's clear they have no interest in providing more information without the most firm push possible, and that would be from a Senator's office. I actually heard the person in the background prompting my "jerk in training" (resisting the urge to use a more severe term) to tell me that his supervisor was "not available at the moment"...and then this "jerkling" had the gall to suggest that I try calling back to see if another "Customer Service Agent" could give me more information, knowing full well that the next person would simply read to me from the same script. It's like they take joy in wasting our time. This is where our taxpayer dollars go....to have people on a power trip wield that power over us??? Yes, they work for us, but that seems to make no difference.

(Deep breath)

As I said, the only thing that makes this bearable at the moment is having Ingrith with me to keep my eyes on the prize. :) While she is losing faith daily, having dealt with immigration every time she crosses the border, just seeing her after work restored my optimism that this could still come through in time for an October wedding. My file will reach the 5-month point next Thursday, so I will do my best to have someone at my Senator's office make contact on or shortly after that date.

Sincere congratulations to all who have moved on from the USCIS phase of this stage of the journey. Please continue to pray, send positive vibes, light a candle, or whatever you can do to help the rest of us.
