I would say to list any of the J1 visa places you stayed for more than 6 months (only if they were 6 months on their own though, not if you came and went several times) as you did live there, you may not have been an immigrant but you were living there. Theres another form that will ask you about your visa's you have received so they will be able to put them together, no worries. If you don't list them you run the risk of them questioning why you did not list living in the states on your J1. I have read other people putting down tourist visa's they had to other countries for over the 6 months as well, as it asks where you lived, not where you were a resident, but technically any place you stay for an extended period of time is a residency, even if its not with immigrant intent.

As for NVC, my petition was approved on a Monday and they did not log it until the Friday (which they couldnt see on the Friday, but on the Monday they could) so if they just got it on Friday I would call again Friday to see if its logged. If the person asks you beneficiary name and such, then they have it :D

Congratulations to all the other recent approvals :)

Hey Fran-

I also called NVC with my NOA1 case number, and they told me the same thing that it isn´t there yet. When I checked my status on USCIS it had been updated last on the 12th, so I imagine that is the day they sent it to NVC. Maybe check your status there too. I will be returning home next week and will call them then to see if it has arrived yet. I filled out all of our forms for the interview and don´t know the answer to your question, but Danu´s reply sounds right to me. Good luck!!

Just to update our status for all those late-June approvals who have met with delays in having their petitions transferred to NVC...

Our file finally arrived at the NVC on Monday, July 13, three weeks after our NOA2. As of now, it hasn't been earmarked for AP, but it hasn't been forwarded to my consulate yet either...hopefully soon...although they say that it takes "between 2-3 weeks" for that to happen (yeah, right).

With any luck, we'll see my P3 in the mail by the end of next week, but who knows with all the current delays we've seen...

To all those who are in the same boat (lengthy transfer times between CSC and NVC) there is hope!

thank you danu. You mentioned what I was afraid of when I don't list them. Don't want to give them the impression that I am trying to hide something when there is no reason to. I have had a j-1 three times and each was over 6 months, that's what I will list.

menina: just tried to check our case online, but systems not working right now. says they are doing maintenance. guess they are not done yet.

Your welcome darlin!

So today was a half decent day. Went and got my first Gardasil shot (owwie, its a very stingy vaccine just as a heads up to those who havent gotten it yet) and also emailed my consulate to see if they have logged my packet yet and to see if I could request a date before or around the 15th of september. This is what I wrote them:

This is an inquiry to our case. We have recently returned the info packet for our K1 Visa. I wish to confirm receipt to your embassy of our package.

As well we do have a request if possible. Our wedding is scheduled for 1st week of Oct, and my fiance has time scheduled off of work for the event as well as to come up to Canada to escort me in my drive across country. As this was scheduled in advance it will not be easy to reschedule so we were hoping that we could request and interview date some time around or prior to the 15th of September. I understand that there are no guarantees, but if you could note our account, we would appreciate it.

Thank you in advance for your reply

and this is what I got back (within an hour too woohoo!)

Please be advised that once we receive your paperwork your case will be placed on a waiting list for an appointment.

I have noted your file that you have an early October wedding and therefore will be scheduled soonest and advised

by mail of the appointment date. Thank you for your patience.

So hopefully I won't have to wait too long :D Just hoping if they schedule me for the next round of interviews that its for AFTER my medical  if not I will see about moving the medical up. Its great cuz one of my friends really wanted to come to both the civil and big one and had been planning for that time too, anything after about the 19th of October she couldn't have done, and I've been invited to a wedding with Wes if I can get down there before the 3rd, so I am very happy today. :D

Called NVC at 4pm central... They have received our case and they have given us our new case number. They said they do not process.. and will hold the K files for a very short time. I still do not have the hard Copy of NOA 2 that was approved via email on 7/10/09... took 10 days to get logged in to NVC and they did receive it Today.

Just in case folks were wondering, no we haven't gotten our NOA2 yet. :crying: :crying:

It's getting exhausting to jump with hopeful anticipation every time my iPhone beeps to tell me I have new email, hoping it's my NOA2 notice but finding instead that it's another offer to sell me a designer watch. :bonk:

Here's hoping that this will finally be the week for the dozen or so early-March applicant still waiting and watching later applicants receive their notices. I bear these recipients no ill will but offer my congratulations and ask them to keep in mind how lucky they are that they are at least at a stage where someone can give them a realistic update on their case status instead of telling them they have to wait at least another month just to have a congressman ask the question.

Looking forward to seeing my princess visit again this week, and waiting anxiously for the day when she can finally come here to stay.

Hi Marchers... I haven't been active in this thread, but just wanted to pop in and give you guys some good vibes and wish you good luck in getting NOA2s quickly.... I can't believe that some April filers (with MAY NOA1s like me!) are getting their NOA2s already!! It's heart breaking for ME, let alone how you guys must feel. This month is YOUR month!! Good luck!

Also, Danu, that's great news about the response you got! I'll have to keep that in mind if it ends up that my process takes a little too long for me to comfortably be there at the start of January.
