Just wondering if you are able to access your case online? We have the same submission and NOA1 date but so far have been unable to access our case online. Thanks.

Be persistent and find out from USCIS what happened to your case. Good luck!

our case is online. but it has never changed. never had a touch. which we might have had but they never updated it. didn't you call them? did they say they found your case? if so I wouldn't worry, because I don't think they are updating the status online. but I understand it feels like your case doesn't exist.

what I think is interesting though is, that some cases must get updated, because people post their noa2 dates, before they got their hard copy. like always it is impossible for us to find out what really is going on.

hopefully we get our noa2 soon, so we don't have to worry about the uscis website anymore.

Yes, I call them every week to be sure my case hasn't been lost. They always tell me that they can access it on their system but the automated system is broken. I don't think that they will ever enter our case because I heard that they are not going back to inputting cases from when the system was down. I was just curious to know if someone who had the same timeline as us was experiencing the same thing. It makes me nervous to see a few people with similar timelines showing up when ours is not. I'm not sure how they know that my case has not been lost somewhere after sending NOA1 if they don't physically look for it, but I am pretty sure that the people on the phone system are not at CSC but at another location USCIS. Thanks for your reply.

They told me our case will never show up in the system, so I'm not too worried. They have it, they can see it, eventually we will get approved. They can see your case on the USCIS computer regardless of what service center put it in, so if they say they can see it I wouldnt worry that its lost. Ours doesnt show up but when I randomly type in other numbers from that same day theres others that do. I would just relax and not stress yourself out because it is in the system. If they tell you "it will be 6 months from X date" then they can see your NOA1, so it is there somewhere.

I tried that too. I typed in all kinds of numbers and saw other visa and if they were pending or got approved. then I was wondering if they could tell that somebody from the same IP is accessing all these cases and stopped. Do you think they can see something like that? Had the idea to find somebody with a k-1 that got approved maybe in march, but isn't on vj. sounds like waste of time, but I got a lot of time to waste right now.

Hey everyone,

just went to USCIS and read the following:

Website maintenance notice

May 7, 2009 - The CRIS System (Case Status, Processing Times, Office Locator, Civil Surgeons, and Change of Address Online) will be offline for maintenance this Sunday, May 10, from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM EST.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Might not mean anything for us "old" filers, but maybe it means that things get updated. We'll have to WAIT, I guess.

Enjoy the weekend

It's technically possible for them to track your IP, yes. I doubt they'd bother to worry too much about it though, since you're not really doing anything malicious. But, who knows? It's an interesting idea, but I don't think I'd risk doing it too often.

If they're going to be down for maintainance on Sunday, then that could well be a good thing. We've been somewhat lucky: we seem to be online, though haven't had any updates at all since the case was added to the system. :( It's pretty discouraging to see no updates, but I try to remind myself that it's probably just because the site records aren't up-to-date. Who knows, ours (or anyone's here, for that matter) could already be on its way to them right this minute!

When we first entered our petition, I really hated knowing that no matter what happened, I wouldn't be able to travel back to the US until next year. Now it's kinda been a relief, almost. I'd be going crazy if the only thing holding me up was the USCIS.

I agree with that, I don't think I'd risk doing that.

The USCIS is actually doing site maintenance? That sounds good! Hopefully, it will update everyone's file and it will actually post the files that have not been posted to the site yet even though they received their NOA1 hard copy. There were probably too many people complaining about not being able to see their case status that they're actually doing something about it. I hope starting next week, all of us should be able to see some kind of status, albeit a touch, that doesn't really mean much but the fact that they actually scanned our file.
