now that the ball is rolling...

let's say we get our interview date, we BOTH have to be at the interview in montreal, right? I was confused about this as someone

had said that only the intending beneficiary is to be there -- that made no sense otherwise how will they know I'm right when I tell them

what kind of underwear he wears?

Any links about the process would be appreciated, just so I can prepare.

But I assume we both have to be there.

Only beneficiary NEEDS to be there, but it's a good idea for petitioner to be there also and since US & Canada are neighboring countries it would be a real good idea.

The beneficiary only needs to be at the interview, but having the petitioner there will add to validating that there is an ongoing relationship.

Only the beneficiary will be interviewed for the CR1/IR1. It might be nice to tell the interviewer that your spouse is in the waiting room as proof of relationship...but it doesn't really matter, they won't ask to see him/her and at no time will he/she be present during your interview.
