I had my interview today at memphis office, it was a good and successful one, the officer was very very professional..he asked me the 6 questions ..got all of them right, read and write a sentence..and went through the application..corrrect a mistake i made about the date of entring the usa in one of trips oveseas..i shewd him the passport so he corrected the mistake. then he asked for updated proof of marriage as i m applying based on 3 years marriage to a USC...in all it took about 30 min...then he handed me the approvale letter.....the only thing that keeps clicking on my mind is when filling out my application i didn `t put one of the addresses i lived in in last 5 years, while i did put them in the I751 and I485, i told him about that and he said it`s not a big deal...but i m not sure if he understood me exactly...hope they won`t think i liead to them or something....

should i tell them about this in the oqth ceremony or it is not gonna be a big issue in the futur?

thanks you guys for your support ..and help..

Congratulations

What evidence did you share with him for proof of marriage? Tax returns and ....

Just my opinion, I don't think the missing address is a problem. The last 3 years are most important, but I think if they were going to notice a difference between I-751 and N400, he would have done it today.

AOS: ND - June 5 2006 | RFE - June 15 2006 | FP Notice - June 30 (Rescheduled to Sept 16) | AP ND - August 14 2006| Walk-in FP - Sept 5 (FP cleared next day!) | Interview - Sept 8 2006 (Approved!) | Welcome Letter - Sept 13 | EAD received - Sept 19 (kinda moot since I'm waiting for GC) | GC received - Sept 23 2006 - Woohoo!!

as for the address issue: do they check the other applications we submitted before our interview for n400 so they would notice any difference??

If you informed him at the interview and he said it was no big deal, I'd probably take him at his word.

It won't hurt to mention it again at the oath ceremony to be absolutely clear, but I don't think it's necessary.

What you want to stay very far away from at all costs is a willful misrepresentation of a material fact. "Willful" means you really intended to misrepresent it. But in your case, you made an accidental mistake, and you've already tried to correct it by mentioning it at the interview, and the truth already appeared on other forms you filed, so it doesn't seem that the "willful" word applies here. "Material" means that, if the officer really knew the truth, it could change his decision about approving your request. Chances are, the specific facts about an old address isn't material. If it was correctly disclosed on previous forms, you could argue that they already knew it, anyway.

When the officer said not to worry about it, that was probably his way of saying it wasn't a material fact in your particular case.

In case others are reading this, remember that this isn't an excuse to be sloppy, careless, or omit answers to questions when you don't think they matter so much. What seems like it's not material to you may seem to be very much material to the officer; there's no sure way to know in advance. Do your best to stay as far away as possible from willful misrepresentation of a material fact, which means you should be as complete and correct as possible at all times.

But if you made an honest mistake, disclosed it, and the officer said it was ok, consider yourself lucky and don't lose sleep over it.

thanks lucyrich for the answers, yes it was an unintentional mistake and i wanted him to know about it so they wouldnt think i wwant to mislead them.

so, thee is no need to mention it in the oath ceremony

as for the qustions, 1- what is an amendment? 2 what is the capital of your state? 3- who vetoes bills? 4 what is th supreme law of the land? 5 who did usa fight in ww2? i forgot the last one, the sentences were, to read :goerge washington was a president, to write, washington was the first president.

i told him about that and he said it`s not a big deal. Should say it all, you are not asked that question at the oath ceremony and if questioned about that would repeat exactly what your IO told you. Ironically you would think the USCIS should have two forms one for the three and another for the five year applications. Because obviously, they are only interested in the time you became a LPR.

I love Adobe Acrobat, had the I-485, G-325a, I-751, and N-400 applications all opened in different windows, so just copied and pasted. It took us quite awhile to learn those dates for the initial forms, and hated to go through all that again.
