You could say she flew into a "McFury"

Latreasa Goodman, 27, was arrested and charged with misusing 911 after calling the emergency line three times to report that McDonalds was out of Chicken McNuggets and...to make matters worse.....they wanted to give her a McDouble.

According to the Fort Pierce Police Department, Goodman said to the 911 operator, "This is an emergency, if I would have known they didn't have McNuggets, I wouldn't have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don't want one, this is an emergency!"

The out-of-Chicken-McNuggets store in question is the McDonalds located at 615 North US 1 in Fort Pierce.

911 abuse happens. The link has few funny or pathetic examples of 911 calls. The one with the taco sounds like the woman complaining about her McNuggets.

she says she didn't realize that 911 was strictly for emergencies... and says she wasn't upset about the chicken nuggets but more about that they wouldn't refund her money...

but still

Yeah, ridiculous for her to call 911, BUT why wouldn't they give her her money back if they were out of McNuggets? What kind of stupid policy is that?

Since when doesn't McDonalds refund money?

(great accent "the po-lice" )

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I don't think there was non-refundable policy. The worker is probably an assistant manager who probably haven't a clue to override the register to do a refund. I worked in McDonalds in the good old days. When we give customers a refund when an ordered is completed, we take it back and write it off. Then we would give a refund.

Many of those McDonald's assistant managers are losers anyway because they never finish school. They tend to get over their head and create their own rules when the Store Manager isn't around to avoid loss.

But, I'm not defending the idiot who called 911. She played it in her head that it was theft by the business. So, she assumed she could call up the police to have that taken care of.

How ignorant!!!

and I only assume based on me working a part time one day a week job at dominos is that McDonalds Mgr would have offered her something else to eat in place of McNuggets first before offering to give money back.

I think it would have been tacky to be like, Ok mam we dont have anything you want and we are just refunding your money. Offering something else seems like what most places usually do.

Once upon a time I was a 9-1-1 operator.

What most folks fail to realize is 9-1-1 is for emergencies ONLY, with emergencies being defined as currently occuring situations that risk life, limb, or sight. Quite technically, you're not supposed to call 9-1-1 if you see a burglary or minor car accident, you're supposed to call the police. What messes most people up is the little bumper stickers or refrigerator magnets that say "Police, Fire, EMS, dial 9-1-1." So, they end up thinking that the telephone number for the police is actually 9-1-1.

Usually if something criminal or medical was going on, they weren't charged with a crime. But, there were a lot of people who would call 9-1-1 and say something like, "my ex-husband is outside and he's a real @$$#0le, I wantchyall to come over here and tell him to leave." Technically, that could be 9-1-1 misuse and in some states it's a felony.

Chicken McNuggets, no matter how big an emergency, are probably not going to necessitate calling 9-1-1 unless someone is choking on one.

Why would it be tacky to say, "we haven't got those, so we're refunding"? (of course, it would have been sharper for cashier to check if the McNuggets were available in the first place, then say "sorry, we're out; do you want something else?" prior to taking customer's money, but...).
