I consider many people here friends, yes, Male - USC

May I ask...and I don't mean to offend you or anyone here - Do you and Nessa go out or meet with friends that often in real life?

sounds like a whole new poll to me :P

I always find it interesting when people refer to things not-of-the-internet as 'real life'.

I see the words you have written here Steven - are you not real?

If Charles, Nessa and myself have a conversation online - is that not a 'real' conversation?

If this were 30 years ago and Charles wrote Nessa a letter, no one would have thought of it as not 'real life'.

I just find it interesting that some people don't see the 'real' connection that we all have, whether on a message board or in an email.

yes, now that i talk to my friends in brazil over the internet, they're not part of the real life anymore, they're fiction lol

I think you're getting tripped up on semantics. Try explaining to most people you know in person about an online friend of yours that you probably don't know their real name, what they look like or even sound like because you've never even talked to them over the phone, and see what kind of reaction you get. I can understand that labeling something 'real life' as opposed to 'virtual life' sounds negative, but there is a difference between interacting with people online vs. interacting with them in person. If there's a better name for it, I'm open to using that instead. :)

There's a difference - you've interacted with them in person before. They aren't total strangers to you.

I am mainly a lurker that checks up on questions asked, issues going on with people's lives, to read the success stories, to read the off topic stuff, and to vote in very strange polls. :jest:

2 more days until I go to Vietnam, then we can sign all the K-1 paperwork and finally get this process started. ^_^
