My approval date was 03/17/09, approval notice was recieved on 03/20/09. Green card was issued 03/26/09, recieved 04/02/09

P.S. I checked these little circles on the back of the card which have portraits of all US Presidents in them and BHO is still not there - that made my day even more!!! :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

One question if anyone can clarify please:

The new 10 year GC, is is supposed to be 10 years from original 2 years GC approval date = 8 years valid card? or add 10 years to the 2 years conditional GC = 10 years valid card?

Sorry if my question is confusing, but I hope to know which is the answer. Thanks!

The physical green card is valid for 10 years since date of issuance, whatever that is.

The status, once conditions are removed, NEVER expires.

If in 10 years you forget to renew your green card, your status is still legal, you just don't have "plastic proof".

However, if you break the residence requirement before the green card expires, your status could be revoked.

Basically, once conditions are removed, there's nothing else required to do from the immigrant.

Just a renewal every 10 years. Just like the driver's license, but with no eye exam... :D

The card is valid for full 10 years from the day it was issued (few days after I-751 approval). But the only 2 dates on it is "expiration date" and "resident since" date which is the date the conditional GC was issued. So in my case, "resident since" is october 2006 but expiration date is 2019, not 2016.

Hey, I'm resident since Oct 2006 as well, and my wife is russian, so we have something in common.

We will probably apply for citizenship around the same time...

Yeah, i know...i was wondering...he is SOOOOO popular in Europe...maybe they can just keep him then? Make him an EU Csar or something?

Well, my wife came to the US when she was 9.

She is the USC and she speaks perfect English and still can speak Russian pretty well (she just speaks it with her parents).

Although she is only an American citizen (came here as a refugee), she proudly says she's Russian.

What's going on here? Darn...it makes me wish that I had filed 7 months later...lol...

This could have saved me a lot of grief from the VSC before... :angry:

yeah that is amazing and it is increasing the workload of CSC too. I remember something like that VSC was supposed to tranfer cases during jan & Feb only (about 80,000). so may be they could not reach that figure yet or may be there is some new policy that we dont know!

Just my wild guess...but maybe they are phasing out VSC as a I-751 processor alltogether?! Just like they did before with TSC. Maybe VSC being that slow and CSC being that fast with I751s isn't just random, maybe it's a result of workforce shifting as part of a plan to make CSC the only place processing I-751 for the whole country. It seems in general they are going more and more away from specializing centers by region to specializing them by types of application types they process. Anyone else noticed that?

7/22/2010 - Online status changed to "Case sent to local office for interview schedule"

7/27/2010 - Received interview letter for 8/23/2010

8/23/2010 - Passed interview, was informed that next oath date is 9/22/2010 and oath letter will come in the mail

They will just probably make them all smaller. Or if things go the way they do, they will probably take out all of them and leave only the "Messiah" and rewrite history like they do back in the old country...He would probably have to find his birth certificate first though and not get impeached for violating the Constitution... sorry for offtopic
