Just received my Livret de Famille (from the french consulte in NY) and I noticed that it only has my husband & I listed in it and not our children (I have 2, he's father to both)...why is that? is this the new format or will they be sending a seperate book? I'm also waiting for them to return my passport with my name correction (changing my maiden name to my married name) not sure how long that'll take...

It doesn't sound normal. Did you send the birth certificate of both children along with it?

I would email the consulate and check if there was a mistake.

Your children should be listed on the same livret de famille, they don't get a separate one (at least until they marry).

Thanks, I did email them and they said it was an error on their part (they somehow "forgot" to put them in it). They're going to redo it and send me a new one...I was thinking that seemed odd that the kids weren't in it but thought it was something new they were doing...Good thing I caught it LOL...

I havent been hearing from the consulate in New-York yet, thought they should have had our package with the required documents to register our marriage one week ago. I know it is gonna take time to get the Livret De Famille (woman on the phone had told me abt 5 months) but all I wonder right now is if they got our package so I am hoping to get some news. Should I mail them ?

Idk. I prepared the package (big enveloppe with bubble paper and so on) but that's my husband who sent it from the base post office. I'll ask him.

Ok sorry 3rd post, wish the EDIT would WORK :bonk:

_______________

Voila qq infos:

"Upon request in writing, the man or woman can request a so-called extended version, which contains additional facts such as parents' and marriage officiant's name, place of ceremony, etc."

Good luck
