I mailed my packet Feb 19th and it arrived at the lockbox on feb 23rd and I haven't received anything either nor have they cashed my check!!! What is their deal all of a sudden?? I know at least one other person with the same story.

It takes atleast a week for them to cash the checks and another week to get the NOA....Keep checking your account

you need patience... 10-14 days is more the norm...

NO, they do not e-mail... all official correspondence is via the USPS.

You do know they had a major snow storm in that area? And they were closed yesterday if my sources are correct!

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Still no NOA1 or check cashed :/, whats the wait time?

2/26???????? That was THURSDAY. Sheesh. You are going to have a problem with this process. They won't delay cashing your check, they deposited it Friday, it will show up in your account today or tomorrow (the gov't likes money) and your NOA1 has already been produced. The only thing you are waiting for now is a rather useless letter that will come in the mail 3-4 days after they get around to sending it. You HAVE your NOA1, it is 2/26/2009. There will be nothing of use in that letter other than the date I already gave you and the USCIS case number which you can run to your computer with to get absolutely useless information from the USCIS website. Take the date I just gave you, put it in your VJ timeline as your NOA1 date and you will receive the absolute best estimate of your timeline you will ever get.

Have you downloaded packet 3? Or are you hovering around the mailbox? Get to work on your interview documents now and make the most of the wait to come.

Your sources are wrong. I can see the VSC from my front porch, we had a total of 1" of snow all day yesterday and last night. I didn't even shovel. They were not closed yesterday. The snow here did not even start until after noon yesterday. The major snowstorm was in the mountians and south of here, Boston and New York.

St, Albans is in the Champlain Valley, right on the lake, and we get nothing of the snow you hear about in the higher elevations, there are bare patches of grass all over my yard.

Anyway, THERE IS NO DELAY! They only got it 5 days ago! The OP needs to cool his jets! Really.
