Getting really confused - Manila Embassy question

No offense to anyone here but I am getting really confused. Could anyone please concretely tell me if a CENOMAR (certificate of NO marriage) is absolutely needed for an interview in the Manila embassy. I see a lot of round and round talk some say yes some say no. I have not seen anything on the embassy website saying it is needed for the interview. I don't want any delays. We have been married for almost 2 years now and want to be sure she will have all she needs for the interview.

It's actually called something else but I don't recall what exactly. Of course, since you are married you cannot get a government certificate certifying you are not married. You obtain the document from the same source as a Cenomar though.

Only needed for K-1 (Fiancee visas).

Your profile indicates CR-1/IR-1 which tells me that you are MARRIED, why would you need a cert indicating that you are NOT, it makes no sense. You will need to provide a copy of marriage cert, and if you were married before, copies of divorce, and annulments.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

yes you will be asked for it...it's called CENMAR - It will just show ur previous marriage and if ur already annulled all u have to do is attached the annulment decree. When I had my interview last feb. 24 I was asked for that certificate during my pre-screening but just like u, didn't see it on the requirement that even annulled people should get 1...I thought the marriage cert that has the remark that my previous marriage is null and void is enough....but i was still asked and the screner told me, didnt u see that on our website. I just told her what I thought that it only applies for SINGLE people since it says CERTIFICATE of NO MARRIAGE. It made me nervous coz' I thought it will cause delays...But after few minutes she just asked if i have a copy of my annulment decree. So, I think giving her that copy helped me. Coz' I got pink slip after the consul interview. No more documents needed. But, I ordered a copy anyways. Just want to make sure I wont have any problems in the future just in case they ask for that certificate again.

its called cenmar or marriage index when you file for it you have to sign the green paper same for cenomar at the nso it takes 3 wks to be release and since you are married they will give you the info about the date of marriage name of husband and wife.

In our case my wife who is the beneficiary was never married. We already have copies from the NSO of our marriage certificate.

Married couples HAVE been put on AR for lack of having a marriage index [CEMAR] from NSO.

Seems like USEM is requiring them more now since they ceased document verification.

It's very difficult, lengthly process and expensive for a married filipino to get a annulment. Easier to just lie and hope they're not discovered.

K1 should get CENOMAR.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

First experience from March 2nd interview at the embassy. We were asked for the NSO Certificate of Marriage and Marriage Index. We were prepared since we had both. The Marriage Index is essentially the letter from NSO listing all marriages on the Philippines Citizen. In our case the only listed marriage was to me.

These documents were asked by the pre-screener. Not everyone was was asked. Since I did ask if others were asked about the documents.

In the end we got the pink slip and paid Air21 the delivery fee.

Hopefully this helps.
