Hey everybody just had my interview this morning in Dallas and we were approved!!! We got there 30 minutes prior to the interview and they called us right on time. The lady was ok but not on her best days, didnt talk much and didnt ask much, no pictures, no documents and didnt even ask to see my birth certificate. The only questions she asked was the one to make sure we didnt commit crimes and etc, you know, that list of questions she has to go through with everyone...She made small talk with our kids( 8 and 7 years old) said we were approved and if we wanted to get the stamp downstairs or wait for green card in 2 weeks. We got the stamp and we were out of there!!! Before we left I was talking to this couple there and they said they were approved but their IO said they werent doing the stamp anymore and they had to wait for the GC on the mail. It just proves that it depends a lot on the person doing your interview, unfortunatelly if you get somebody having a bad day you end up with a different outcome. The whole immigration process is unpredictable and we have to make sure we did our part right and everything will fall in place. I wish everybody the best of luck and soon we`ll all have our GC on hands. So now im back to packing because monday I`ll be leaving to Brasil for a whole month to relax and see my family!!! Good luck to all!!!

We got our card today, expected a 2 year card, since we did K1 Visa, and they sent us a 10 year Card. We got the notice on Jul 29 that the card production was ordered, and it said 10 year at the bottom, but I figured it was a mistake, and just a form letter. We get the card today 8/01, and it is a 10 year card! No more USCIS until citizenship!!

We had our interview last monday here in Chicago.

There were about 20 couples already there when we arrived, but they were calling pretty fast, so it didn't take very long.

Our interviewer greeted me with "bom dia". He had been to Brazil twice and was interested in talking about it. He was very friendly and it was a very informal interview.

He asked for my passport and for my husband's birth certificate and passport (he is the USC)

He asked us how we met and asked my husband what is my mother's name.

He went through the list of questions on the AOS form.

He asked me if I had left the country since I came in. I said I've been to Brazil twice since I arrived. He asked me if I had gotten advanced parole, and I told him that I didn't need one because I have a K-3. He laughed and said that's right! You are teaching me the law! It was funny.

He said that everything seemed to be in order and told us we were ready to go. I asked him if I was going to be approved and he said yes. He said that as far as his opinion goes, we were approved before we even got there, because we already went through a lot of scrutiny during our k3 process.

He didn't ask to see any of those things that were listed on the interview letter. I spent the day before organizing everything, printing pictures, and he didn't even look. I asked him if he wanted to keep all the copies I made. He said sure, I'll add them to your file and they might help you later when you get your citizenship.

By the way, brazilians, I double checked with the embassy and they assured me that we are able to obtain double citizenship and Brazil doesn't demand that we give up our brazilian citizenship to obtain the american. So I guess we might as well get it over with, eh?

I checked the USCIS website on the night of my interview but it still didin't show anything. I waited a couple of days and tried again, and it showed card production ordered, so I guess my card is on the way :)

Thank you for the support and good luck to all.

Just go notice that they've ordered green card production for the second time (Its now 60 days since the first time it was ordered). Hopefully that means we should finally be getting our greencard.

Card Production ordered!

We can't believe it.. just got the email update from the USCIS an hour ago!

We'll let you know if it's a 2-yr or 10-yr card, but honestly, we don't care at that point, just getting it makes us so happy.

I will continue updating the spreadsheet for the rest of you.

If I can say one thing, it's that dreams come true. For those of you still waiting, they will too. :goofy:

So, we original had card production ordered June 5th. June 8th they mailed the welcome letter. On August 4th we received another notice that card production had been ordered again. Today we just got email that our approval notice had been sent.

Is "approval notice sent" code word for green card, or are we going backwards now in the processing cycle?
