We had our interviews today at the Sacramento Regional Office of USCIS.

It was uneventful and was very fast and easy. Very nice IO who observed my file was very thick and complete. Only asked the 'stock' questions off of one of the forms, e.g., ever member of a subversive group, any arrests, any drug use, etc, etc. Wife and daughter signed a couple of forms and advised would be up to two months for receipt of GC's, as she had a recent advisory that GC production was somewhat delayed as of this week.

She took the I-94 from each passport, but did not ask for the EAD cards.

Interviewed both wife and daughter at same time.

Advised me that if I adopt my daughter, that in another year (total of two together) that she can via my derivative status before her 16th BD, get her Citizenship and US Passport without the wait that my wife will have. My daughter is just turned age 13.

Again, very helpful and cordial.

No more USCIS until Citizenship filing time

What happens if you want to travel between the interview and receiving the GC if it takes 2 months, considering you no longer have the I-94 and no stamp??? Doesn't the airline ask for I-94 when you leave?

Permanent Resident Card Production Delays

USCIS is announcing that applicants may experience up to an eight week delay in the delivery of their permanent resident card while we are in the process of upgrading our card production equipment. USCIS Field Offices will be issuing temporary evidence of permanent residence in the form of an I-551 stamp to applicants approved for permanent residence at the time of their interview. You will need to take your passport to your appointment. If you do not have a passport, you must bring a passport style photo and government issued photo identification to receive temporary evidence of permanent residence.

If the application is approved subsequent to your interview or by a Service Center or the National Benefit Center, the applicant should bring the above documents to an INFOPASS appointment to be issued temporary evidence of permanent residence in the form of an I-551 stamp.

WHICH OPTION DO YOU NEED TO CHOOSE to make the Infopass appointment? I AM GUESSING OPTION 2.

Please select Kind of Service you need:

1 - You need Service on a case that has already been filed

2 - You are a new Permanent Resident and have not yet received your Permanent Resident Card

3 - You want to file an application in person

4 - You need information or other services

5 - You need a form.

ON AVERAGE, HOW EARLY WILL THE APPOINTMENT BE? A few days, 2 weeks, more?

FYI, our Field Office is San Jose, CA

CAN THE APPOINTMENT BE MADE PRIOR TO THE INTERVIEW DECISION?

This is critical for us as Angela is leaving the US two weeks after the interview and I'd rather have her with the I-551 in hand than the AP (they can deny entry on the latter, not the former).

When you're at the interview, explain the circumstances (she will be leaving the U.S. in two weeks), and ask for the I-551 stamp at that time. I would be surprised if they don't accomodate that request. They might, but it sure won't hurt to ask. After all, some offices give the stamp as a matter of practice....at least that's what I understand.

Hello VJ'ers!!

I sent the response for the rfe on my son's aos with delivery confirmation.It says on usps website that it was delivered.I called uscis to check if they actually have it and get an update on his case but they said it still says they sent out the rfe.They didnt confirm if they have the response on it.I was told it will take 60 days to get a response or an action on our case.Just want to know the average time as to how long will it take to get an update ?Is there any other way to get an information from them.I just want to be sure that they indeed have it in their hand or should i just sit tight and wait until we get an update.

Just an update on my I-485:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On June 16, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

Then touched today.

Is that mean my card is on the way?

I got mine a few days after recieving this LUD, so i would say there is a high chance your card is somewhere in the USPS system.

I got an email from CRIS the day after our interview stating: Card Production Ordered. Got the Approval Notice Letter in the mail a few days after. Now, I got another email from CRIS saying Card Production Ordered, dated Jun 17th... hmmmmmmm......

Woo hoo! Just got our email from CRIS. Card production has been ordered! I was so worried about getting an RFE because we didn't have an I-693, just his DS form they sent with them after his medical last year, but apparently (with the TB and various VD tests) they accepted it. Yay!

The relief is absolutely amazing. Smooth sailing from here on out, looks like.

We got RFE too on Medical. We send last week again I-693. I don't know how long after RFE received by officer at CSC will update.

Can you update in ur profile..when u received RFE & when u send back RFE.. U had any touch after that ?
