This wait is more frustrating then the K-1. everyone is getting transferred, I want to hear something or at least be able to see our case on USCIS. But nothing.. 11 days since Bio.

Congrats to all the transfers, that's great news!! and I hope everyone gets quick approvals!!

Couldnt agree with you guys more. 10 days since biometric, and we are crossing fingers just as hard as you guys. Good luck, and we will see you at the finish line.

We're on a very similar time line, and the same local office.. just hoping it's not Philly that's casing the problem here.

Just out f curiousity, and this isnt just aimed at you guys, anybody feel free to answer my probably stupid question, but i was looking at your signature and your timeline. Your biometrics was completed the 14th, and you just got a letter saying that your case was transferred to CSC, which is great, but how do they transfer your case on the 7th, when on the 7th, you still hadnt completed your biometrics??? My husband did his biometrics April 10th, shouldnt we be expecting some kind of letter soon? I thought that they needed to have EVERYTHING including biometrics DONE before they could transfer you to CSC?? am i mistaken???

I guess it's not really necessary to have the biometrics done before they transfer the case cos my biometrics would be this 23rd and they transferred our application on the 14th. I've seen some cases here (VisajOurney) that their case was transferred after their biometrics too.

YEP....I figured it would be the case..since K 1 holders already had interviews before.

I am on F-1 visa..looks like I should start to gather pictures, documents and stuff for interview then. and hope the interview letter comes soon....^^

I am wondering if those people got transferred to CSC all have K1 visa??

Pretty much. I haven't seen yet a B2 or other visa get transferred to California.

If you are a K1 you wont have interview in most of the cases.

Maybe Im wrong but this is my feeling :)

Yah i have seen recently that MOST of the k-1 visas get transferred, which is good and convenient for most of us, because it is easier, no interview, they send you everything in the mail. THey do do the occassional interview i guess eeny meeny miney mo thing cause if you think about it , k-1 visa holders already did the interview OUTSIDE of the country, if they wernt good enough to enter, they wouldnt have been approved. This is the final stage, ..... THANK GOD!!!!

DAMIAN&KELLY because we are on such a similar timeline, please let me know when you guys hear something about your case and i will be sure to do the same for you guys. I want to be able to compare my progress or lack thereof with someone who is from the same local office as i am, and what a coincidence, ..... haha. Keep me updated.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Philippines
Timeline

I believe all K-1's and K-3's have interviews before entering the country, as well as the CR/IR? folks too, about the only people who wouldn't are people from VWP countries, and possibly there is some degree of difference between a visitor visa interview and a k-1 interview since one is focused on the relationship questions and one is purely can you prove that you have enough reason to return home if we let you into america... I just don't think that the embassy interview is viewed as a reason not to interview here, other than possibly the very short time frame between that interview and the AOS, I imagine if it takes some time to file AOS they are more likely to require an interview than those who file before their I90 expires. The K visa's don't require both people to be present (although it certain helps and may unnofficially be required in some countries) and the AOS interviews REQUIRE both husband and wife, the only exception being if one of them is military and deployed at the interview, in which case it seems like the preferred thing is to reschedule the interview so that they can attend (earlier or later, but it's a pretty big sticking point for both to attend the interviews when they are done).

The biometrics appointment and being transfered to CSC are two distinct things, many people are transfered before their biometrics appointment (a few of us in march received the transfered notice in the mail the same day we did the biometrics, which means it was sent a few days before we went).

GueraKristina - I will keep you updated, once we're updated ourselves. Even tho I heard that the USCIS site doesn't keep them up to date well I wish our case was entered into the system just for piece of mind. Also did you guys send the I-693?

Also I don't think the CR/IR folks have to do AOS, maybe I'm wrong but I thought that process was for green card, and they have to remove conditions? maybe I misunderstood it.

We did sent the I-693, but the form pretty much just had the vaccines put on it, because alfredo had his medical done in mexico, and he brought his vaccine records over to the U.S so the doctor just put the vaccines onto the I-693 form, and put it in the 'do not open' envelope, and we sent that with the AOS paperwork. Why did you guys not send it???

No we took a chance and just sent the form with his vacs on it from his K-1 medical.. At this point I could deal with a RFE for the I-693.

It's a four hour trip to get to a panel physician in my state, so I took the chance on getting a RFE by just sending the DS 3025 document, which indicated she had been given all the vaccines required for her age group. We may get a RFE for that, and if we do we'll deal with it then, but otherwise we've saved a day off work plus a bunch of travel expenses etc. Waiting for the AOS is not nearly as rough as waiting for the Visa process itself, if you are hurting for money that probably changes things, but for me personally it just means my debts will take longer to pay off.

Received NOA1 on March 13 for AOS-bundle, but still haven't heard anything about biometrics appointment. Seems like I should have heard something by now... What would be the best way to check up the status (no luck through USCIS web-page)? Will call center be able to give indication on staus?

When I called I get escalated to the next level of customer service, they see that everything is received but it just says pending. Yesterday when I called the lady said she sent out an inquiry to get me a Biometrics appointment set up. Who knows if they actually did anything, but I will just wait and see.
