I couldn't find on the instructions in the I-485 package that needed the I-693, so all I did was to include a copy of the report from the doc that examined me for the visa interview last November. Would I get an RFE for that? The time it takes doesn't matter to me anymore; I'm with him now, not 15 timezones away. Also, I found it strange that I found nothing on the I-485 about the I-693, but the I-693 mentions filing it with the I-485, so I'm really confused. I think the guides on VJ for the AOS are a little outdated now. Hmm.

Any ideas?

Also, my biometrics appointment is at 1pm on my brother-in-law's birthday, April 4th! I'm so excited about that :)

I did the same, my understanding is that for K1/K3 AOS if you completed all your vaccines prior to or at your medical for your visa that form is all you need. An I-693 is needed if your vaccination status was incomplete and you have had further vaccines here in the US.

For my husband, he had brought over his vaccination records from mexico, (and b/c he is here on a K-1, ) he had to have a doctors appt in mexico in order to get his fiance visa. And all of his medical results were in the manilla packet that he had to surrender when he crossed the boarder, so when we were peparing to send his AOS package, for the I-485, we just went to the civil surgion, explained everything, and showed the instructons fro the I-485 saying that he ddnt needa full physical, just had to have is vaccinations transcribed onto the form (verifying that he infact had the shots that he needed), b/c originally they said they wanted to do the whole physical all over for $300,and i was like no, so i took the instructions for the I-485, and she said that it was fine, and transcribed my husbands vaccines, and we sent that in with our packet, however she still used the I-693, she just completed the vaccination part, saying all requirments were met. (she gave me a copy for my own records).

I'm a bit confused on the vaccination records too. The USCIS website seems to explicitly say that K1 visa holders need the I-693 filled out but you guys are saying otherwise? What is this based on?

We're having a nightmare of a time finding a civil surgeon who isn't trying to screw us out of a lot of $. I think we're delayed at least another week because of this form so if there's something I don't know, please enlighten me!

Im from PA too, and we went to the civil surgion in Frazer, PA. For us, we just had to how the doctor the I-485 instructions saying that for the fiance k-1 visa, the full physical isnt requried since he had to get that in order to get the K-1, we just needed to have the shots put onto the I-693, i just had to translate them for her. she only charged 100 since it was just for the vaccine transcription. Let me know if you need any more help.

HI Terri & Seb,

If your medical was done during your K1 visa screening & is valid within 1 year you do not have to undergo a complete medical checkup again. This is mentioned on USCIS as well. You should be having a vaccination record with you from the medical u had before the K1 Visa interview. Just take that to the USCIS medical surgeon(List is available on USCIS) & tell him that he just need to fill the form I-693 after verifying your vaccination record. Also, if you have had the TB test done earlier within 1 year then there is no additional vaccination required. The civil surgeon will barely charge you for the form if any. However if you have never taken a TB test, then that's the only thing you would need. They would try and talk you out to have the complete examination done, Be strong &tell them that its not required. They are just to verify your records and provide vaccination only if it was not given to you at the time of your previuos medicals.... Its mandatory now to have a TB test done by USCIS. Thats exactly what I did. Once the test is done they will provide you with a sealed copy of your updated medical records & formI-693 whic you would send along with your AOS packet....To find a civil surgeon follow the below given link :-

I hope I was of some help to you.

Good Luck & Speedy aprovals.

Amrit & Rob

Filed in the first week of March. Received NOA the following week, a few days later the biometrics letter(4/4-date of the interview). Today received a letter that I need medical records and have 87 days to send it. Found the list online so I'm gonna make an appoinment on Monday. Also do I get letter saying that my applications have been approved? or something? NOA said something about that the letter didn't mean that it has been approved just that it was received(or something like that)

Hi Shey,

On the main page of USCIS look out on the right side Under " HELP WITH" it will give you an option to check case status online. Follow the link below.

Hi All,

I have received my case numbers or So called receipt numbers to AOS /EAD/AP applications, but whenever i am checking the status on USCIS it says that information not found!!! How is that possible? Is is that we have to wait for a couple of days for the information to get updated? But even when i tried adding these rcpt numbers to my profile it did not accept that. The Receipt numbers start with MSC and its a 16 digit number.

Has anyone faced a similar problem?

Regards,

Amrit & Rob
