Hmm Go Spurs! But here where my wife is, she has very little culture shock. She never got too homesick, and was always around a lot of Filipinos. So she never ran away or said she would. I wonder how it would be for other Filipinas going to the rest of the US. I think I had more problems adjusting to living in the Mainland. So it would could be worse for someone from another country living there.

Been packed my things many times before ( only moved it in the other room ) and runaway couple times ( went to my friend houuse only for 1 day coz already missed each other so much ) in my 10 months here in the U.S with my husband. If i dont read or heard lots of the same stories from other filipina and some of my friends that also living now here in the states if how many times they cried and other more mixed emotion they experienced on thier 1st year of moving here before they get over it and fully adjusted about life here.. then i would really think that i need a psychiatrist LOL. Moving ur life in a very different place than u used to is very difficult for me its like.... u were just born again LOL. But ofcourse not for everybody... some people really loved to be in this country so they are lucky that they are not too affected on this changes. LOL meant this with couple of my friends even they are not happy with their marriage anymore they still dont want to leave coz they dont wanna go back our barrio anymore  . Me.. i always love our barrio im even begging my husband to just quit in his job and we go back there and him just go fishing with my father LOL but ofcourse he hate that idea :rofl::rofl:

But anyway... Life is always good no matter what when u were with ur most love of ur life.

Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years.

Why does it sometimes feel that everyone is in a bucket? That people dont actually read things from a full spectrum, that they think that it has to fir their own world?

ALL OPiNIONS, STATEMENTS, ASSERTIONS, AFFIRMATIONS, ARGUEMENTS ....THEY CAN ALWAYS BE CATEGORIZED AS GENERALITIES!!!!!

EVER LAW IS ONLY A THEORY THAT HAS BEEN AGREED UPON NY TWO OR MORE HUMANS THAT IT IS NOW FACT!

THERE IS NO TRUE LAW!!!

We cannot talk or speak to each other if people cannot make any point without a person coming along and exposing the only obvious point that everyone already knows.

A banana is yellow and makes you healthy and provides you Vitamin K....but we all know that not every banana is yellow....isnt it obvious to any common sense person that the sender of the information is only talking about ripe, edible bananas? For what reason would anyone waste there breath to come out and say hey "That banana over there is green, therefore you make no sense because I see a green banana?

This means there is always going to be room for argument, debate, and lots of room for disproving....and it also means that their is going to confusion, loss of the point being made, and time wasted.

YOu have to be able to intelligently read a persons point using empathetic senses to change your own reality to someone elses, or some others groups reality. It cannot and does not have to be your own reality.

It may not be your reality, but it does not mean it does not exist....

Now if you are just looking to take the high road and prove that you are in a better state or worst state (victim thinkers), and your world doesnt exist like someone else, then move on!!! You are not ready for this kind of content.

THEORY OF RELATIVITY!!!!!

We are all wrong, and we are all right!!!

So the only way we can have clear communication with understanding is to use our empathetic senses. If you have not matured enough to use these senses, then you should not be posting on messageboards. PERIOD!!!!

The OP made some good points and it fits "some" but not "all"!

So if it dont fit you, then why waste the cyberspace?

Or is it your ego speaking to you because this thread provides you an opportunity to be that one crab in the bucket to pull the other crab down below you, so you can look like you "Got the perfect girl" "YOu are more of a man than the other guy" "that your life is not full of problems" or that you can show your wife now how much of a gentleman you are , and how much you love her.....But do you not see that its not necessary to tear one man down in order for you to mate with the female? In our modern complex world, in there are enough females for all of us to have access to some of it...you have complete free access with little competition from other males to mate with your woman? We dont have to do that anymore guys!!!!!!

and to be honest, what angers me the most, is that is usually mostly men who do this...They are always trying to prove that they got the longest ding dong, or the biggest wallet, or the most sensitivity for women, children, pets etc...lol

Goodness!

The more we say we are civilized, the more I have to ask the question....Are we sure?

My Rant for Today!!!!

whew!!!!!

gotta say the post 2 above this one pretty much summarizes what i was saying. i stated more than once that this may or may not apply to you, if it does, great, maybe this will help. if not, it doesnt mean you are any better, or have a better wife, it simply means you are in a different situation than what i have observed in my and other relationships.

dont try to act like you dont have fights or always get along, because that is simply a lie.

as i write this my wife is ranting about the girl who moved to a cold place here, i wont mention where, and she obviously want prepared for the weather, but the man wasnt aware of how cold she was and that she was layering all her clothes to keep warm, and she never mentioned it and never complained...he never knew that in her native tongue she was complaining to her friends that she was freezing to death, so before you throw stones, make sure you arent in a glass house.

and yes, i know i didnt describe lambing well...but i gave it a shot :P

and to reiterate one last time, this was meant to be used to help, not as a place to brag about whether or not your wife and you fight about these particular things. these are just some things i have observed filipinas and americans fighting about, and my thoughts on how to avoid it, thats it.

and clearly based on some of the statements made by filipinas here, they have gone through exactly the same thing....so i cant be that far off ;)

- the trial of course was o.j. simpsons.

I dont really agree with the description of lambing here. Lambing is being affectionate either the "sweet" way or the "brutal" way.

Affectionate or "sweet" lambing could be lots of hugs, sweet talks, compliments all over the place, touches. Lambing in a brutal way.. she would be hitting you with her palm or fist in an affectionate way. Not really meant to harm you.

For oyur description of lambing, you married a woman who does not know what she wants. No offense meant to your wife if this is her way of lambing. Tell her to make up her mind.

- This is the filipina wife speaking.

LAMBING

ah...lambing. next to tampo, probably the second most misunderstood cultural phenomenon of the filipina lifestyle. lambing is when she asks to leave, so you do, then she wants you by her, but she tells you to leave again. or she wants you to take her to a restaurant, so you do, but when you get there she doesnt want to go in so you, frustrated, take her home all angry, and she is angry too, because she wanted to go to the restaurant. honestly, after like 3 years, i dont understand it at all. again, ladies, just be open and honest and direct instead of all that lambing stuff. not "when you go to her she says go away, leave me alone, but when you leave she comes running to you and asking you not to leave"

That has always been my understanding of lambing. OP, your right there is some misunderstanding about making lambing.

I undestand they may be from your personal observations, but I also find some of your other statements way off base. the title of your thread " American Filipina User Guide " was not the right choice. you have made far too many generaliztions, which I doubt apply to most couples, IMHO.

Okay, bud, you're as fast as Pancho Villa. I owe you an El Grande Mexican Plate and a 46 oz. margarita at The Republic of Texas Restaurant. But you have to wait till my next trip to San Anton which might be 6 months away!

wow, that sounds amazing!

if you really are coming here in six months, let us know, we will definitely get together like we have with several couples from this site :)

ive got a stocked bar, and a big grill and a filipino grocery just up the highway...so come on over and bring the wife and we will have a grand old time :)
