New to this - and sorry if this seems like a basic question but i am keen to get it right first time ..so i would rather look like a plank and ask than get it wrong just for the want of taking advice. Me and my fiance have know each other and been visiting each other since 2003 - however when question 18 comes along should he simply stick to the last two years or actually state we met in 2003 - and should we be furnishing them with actual mm/yyyy for the past two years only?

Grateful for any advice regarding this aspect of the I-129F as the rest is straight forward but i am concerned about what they actually want to see in this question

Thanks!! :help:

Well honestly, I recommend you be as detailed as possible. In this particular area, too much information isn't a bad thing unless you don't have any evidence to support it. So what you do have, pictures passport stamps boarding pases, etc. of the times you met in person, write about that.

Meh, nothing to see here.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: United Kingdom
Timeline

We put down all my visits to him even the ones before the last two years of filing the petition, but then again there was a gap of 3 years between the last time i met him, and last christmas. We had originally decided to file the petition but unfortunately we missed the 2 year deadline due to finances. I originally met him in July 2002, december 2002 then december 2005, we filed our petition feb 2006. We listed all those times and the length of the stays. We have had no problems to date :) Good luck on your journey.

Just to remind you it is very very important you fill in your timeline when you send your petition and keep it updated regularly as it calculates the statistics on this board and helps other members answer your future questions effectively if they know what stage you are at and which embassy etc. Thank you.

Thanks Zethris for replying ...sadly we are one of those couples who has pictures but because we are together either he was taking pic of me or me taking pic of him - it has only dawned on us as we decided we wanted to make the giant leap from g/f b/f to fiance that we didnt have anything in way of pic!! my last visit was in May and we made effort to get pics this time ( together and with family members) - current evidence i have covers my last two visit - boarding passes - train tickets -those lovely little tickets they give you when you leave the country - phone bill for the last 7 months - and passport stamps - receipt for engagment ring ( of course i do have passport stamps for 2003 onwards but on their own i dont suppose they amount to evidence?)....any guidance ot thoughts gratefully received :):)

There is nothing that says you cant include details from before the 2 year period, as long as you can show that you have met in person in the 2 years directly before the filing of the petition with is the requirement of the I-129F. Use Q18 to describe in some detail of how you met in person, especially within that two year period and how it established the relationship. This should then be supported with the evidence that you will submit. What you are envisaging to do is to create an image in the minds eye of the adjudicator that you have satisfied the requirement of having met within the 2 year period.

All the best to you.

We put down all the dates as well truffles (your 'look like a plank' comment made me laugh, its so london, made me feel homesick b4 I even LEFT! lol).

Like you our first visit we had NO pix of us together the first time, cos we did the exact same thing! lol.

BUT I had kept my boarding passes etc, even sme old visa bill showing a meal paid for and other small stuff, and we sent copies of those.

We had more detailed stuff we could send for later visits so I figured it all went to just building up the bigger picture. We had no RFE's so I guess we were right :)

Good luck.
