I accidentally sent originals :x

I just realized I accidentally sent my original boarding passes with the I-129f package

I know I'm going to need these for the visa interview and I'm absolutely terrified we're going to be denied without them. Is there anyway they can make it to the consulate? I don't have any more, I have all the copies in the world of them though. At some point I just forgot to switch the copies with the original after making the copies.

Someone help :(

They should be with your application/petition.

Copies are taken also. They only ask for originals if your copies look "fishy".

I would not be too worried.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Haley....I would think that your stamps in your passport would be just as good. They have the time, date and country stamp on them so they can tell you've been to visit.

Anything you sent with the petition will be in the file when the CO does the interview. The problem with sending originals is you don't get them back and if lost before they get there, well they're lost.

They care less about plane ticket stubs at the embassy interview. They want to see you financially qualify and you have a bona fide relationship. You already proved you met within 2 years with the initial petition. That's where the ticket stubs come into play. No worry as they will be forwarded to the your fiances embassy anyway!

PICTURES, communication records and finances are what they want to see at the interview.

THANK YOU EVERYBODY! I can sleep tonight haha.

That's exactly what I thought about the tickets also. I figured I proved we've met (several) times over the past few years. Now for the interview I have LOTS of photos and MSN records I'm working on now. Hopefully, I'll start just calling straight through with my phone for references because I usually buy phone cards (I save them all though) but they don't exactly give a good representation of who and when.

Anyway, I was worried because my fiance read otherwise about having the original boarding passes at the interview. I'll have to let him know in the morning that we're okay haha.

Seriously though, thanks

The London Embassy doesn't bother to look at any of your relationship evidence, the originals they will want to see are birth certificate, police certificate etc and they will want the affadavit of support and evidence for that. I took some phone records, e-mails, photos etc and they didn't want to see any of it, you'll find the same reported by others interviewed at London so don't go overboard with reams of paper.

What happens in visa interview at a given Embassy or Consulate varies tremendously on a case by case basis. So, please don't make blanket statements about what will happen in somebody else's interview based on one interview experience.

Relax a little bit. You should have lots of evidence of ongoing relationship, I had tons, including original boarding passes that they never even looked at. Your I-129f file in it's entirety is sent to he consulate so they will have them. If the CO is a decent sort, they will exchange them for the originals. I am absolutely sure the CO we met with for collecting documents would have done this if we asked. He was very courteous and helpful. Even if he grumbles a bit...so what? If you have a legitimate relationship leading to a marriage you will have lots of evidence, boarding passes are just one thing.

So it is likely you won't "need" them if you have lots of other stuff (passport stamps are just as good, they really don't care HOW you got there) so don't panic.

Jesus christ, i sent in the original , and didn't even make copy of them. The worse part is i don't have the time stamp on my passport, no idea how others got theirs and i don't. What a nightmare

r0yal:

I followed your other thread on this. How exactly did you visit Viet Nam and not have a passport stamp? Did you not go to passport control when you arrived and left? I'm confused. In Ukraine they have those old metal "Ka-chunk" stamps and love to stamp everything with them, I think they are stamping blank paper when they are not busy and no one is looking. It is like a national stamping fetish! You also should have stamps in your passport from when you return. How did you avoid this?

You are absolutely correct, Pushbrk. I had a box full of stuff, really, and they never looked at it but I would bring it again and gladly carried it out, I let Alla carry the pink card. But if they have other things to support the relationship I think it will not be a problem. I agree with you, bring a gun to a knife fight.

That requires a BIG DITTO!! Case by case. LOTS of people are denied do to lack of proof of a bona fide relationship.
