Economic Crisis causing delays?

Does anyone have information supporting or dispelling the information that my fiance received from an attorney in Brazil who told her that due to the economic crisis in the US, fiancee visas are taking close to 11 months to process? The Attorney told her that it would be faster for me to get married in Brazil and after file for a k3 which would take about 6 months. The graphs surely don't show this trend but I guess it could be a recent change.

Thanks.

No effect from what I have seen getting approved - seems situation normal.

What proof did the attorney give your fiancee?

The economic crisis has nothing to do with visa processing.

I really hope this is the case. We're getting ready to file our petition in a couple of days and I don't think I can take much more than the 6 to 8 months. 11 months is just cruel and unusual punishment, if you ask me.

This is total nonsense. It will take as long as it takes but the economy doesn't impact government workers.

OMG, here is a clue. If an immigration attorney's lips are moving and wors come out, he is lying. If no words come out, he is eating.

There is NO economic slowdown for the federal government, they confiscate more of our moeny so they have it to spend. Soon federal employees will be the only ones working. Due to the economic slowdown, more immigration attorneys will lose money (yippee) because there will be less suckers to swindle.

RUN away from this lying scumbag

If anything I would think the economy has caused people to cut back so fewer petitions are being filed.

As everybody else has said, I have not seen any delays. You may want to think about speaking to another attorney if yours is giving you excuses like that already...lol
