Hi everyone! Just want to ask if anybody knows what else do i need to submit if I'm going to petition my parents. I've read here that i will submit I-130 form for each of them, my birth certificate showing my parents' name on it, their marriage certificate, my mom's BC, application fee for each and a copy of my naturalization certificate.

Do I need to submit photo of them ( 2 x 2) ? Anything else I'm forgetting? Thanks in advance!

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

I am petitioning parents also. You need to send two of everything with two separate I-130 forms. However , you can send them both in the same envelope. They try and keep them together and so far both the UCIS and the NVC have done a sterling job of keeping them together. At this stage you will just need copies as well, no need for the orginals or notorization. You will need 2 copies , 1 for each petition of your naturalization certifcate, your birth certifcate for your Mothers petition showing her name and yours and another copy of your birth certifcate and your parents marriage certificate showing they were married to each other before you were born for your Father's petition. They actually do not require a copy of the marriage certificate with your Mothers petition but I think I submitted one anyway! If your name has changed since birth, you need a copy of the document that shows this EG your marriage certificate, one with each petition and of course your fees, one check per petition, $355 each. You do not need photos until the petition gets to the NVC.

When you download the forms from the UCIS website, the intructions are also with it so you can double check all this.

It took about 3 months for mine to get approved before they were forwarded to the NVC. Use that time to start preparing all the documentation for the next stage at the NVC. It takes a fair bit of gathering up, especially with parents, there are two petitions and two of everything and parents tend to have had a lot of life to be documented!

(Please note we have taken our time and we could have gone faster with the NVC)

I have 2 petitions running at the same time, I have not posted 2 sets of dates because they have been processed either together or a few days of each other.

Nearly forgot, don't worry if you receive your I 130 receipt for one parent only even though you sent them together which is what happened to me, the other one arrived 2 days later! There have been some horror stories of parent petitions getting separated and having drastically different processing times but its rare and if that did happen , you can just hold off on the processing at the NVC for the one thats ahead until the other one catches up and send everything in the same envelope at the NVC, starting them back up together. You have a year from initial contact with the NVC to respond before they consider the petition abandoned. My parents have been married since 1962 and they go everywhere and do everything together and I couldn't imagine splitting them up for any of this. They are scared enough!
