Hello all,

I applied both for K3/K4 and CR1 Visas in late september / early October and would like to know if when approved, (or before), the interview and medical examination, etc can be done in Panama instead of my Wife's country (Colombia).

How would I go about doing this. I read something about an I-824 but no 100% sure that it applies to me. I am a US Citizen / Panama Dual Citizen; my wife is Colombian and not yet a resident of Panama, but our marriage was registered in Panama. If need be I can file for her Panama residence.

Anybody knows if this even possible? Any thoughts, advise, guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you marry in Panama? If so you could have K-3 interview there, if not, the interview will be held in country of residence at the time the I-130 was filed.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Thank you for your reply, I did not marry in Panama, I married in Colombia. Does this rule also apply to the CR1 Visa application.

Anybody knows of a way to change the consulate?

Thank you Mononoke28, that is some very useful information. That I just need to figure out if the Bogota and Panama Embassies will be willing to cooperate with this.
