Everything at the oath went great. We arrived around quarter to ten, and after going over the oath letter we were led into the court room to our seats one by one. Our family members were allowed to sit in the back area of the court room to take pictures or record the proceedings. Cell phones were NOT allowed in the building at all.

The ceremony started at a little after 11 AM and was over at 12. We were allowed to take pictures with the judge afterward. After that I went to the license branch, and social security office, then to the post office to send for my passport. Now I am officially a new US citizen :dance:

Bye bye USCIS!!!!! :pop:

I remember I did't send much (and got lucky)

but maybe that's why they were asking me for all that 2006 stuff

For the I751,I think I sent all they had asked for to demonstrate marital union: bank statements, leases, taxes, pictures, sworn letters from friends, utility bills...I think there was less evidence for 2008 and 2007 as well. But I mainly think they want to check that right after you got the GC, you still can provide evidence of a bonafide marriage and that the docs cover the whole period. This USCIS business is way too complicated for me to grasp though, some applicants have it easy and others don't and there's nothing you can do since everything is at the IO's discretion, if she/he feels like asking every single paper in the book, they can. If they feel like asking for nothing, they can too, saying the file contains enough evidence already. I have given up trying to make any sense out of anything. People still waiting for interviews, take everything you can, really! You'll be so upset if out of laziness, you did not care to bring various bills to the interview. Also try to bring 4 bills per year so it covers the whole year. Bring them all: telephone, cell phone, electricity, credit cards, insurances, leases, mortgages. Also it doesn't matter that some are under only one spouse's name, it's important to show that they share the same mailing address regardless.

I got my oath ceremony letter today at local Los Angeles USCIS office. Oath date is Aug 28th 2009. I'm glad it's almost over, but I think I should share this odd experience with whoever has to deal with USCIS in LA

I live in Los Angeles, but for some reason USCIS sent me to Santa Ana field office for the interview, in July 10, 2009. After the interview, I thought I would received my oath letter 1-2 weeks after that, cause my one of my cousin got his just 8 days after the interview. I waited for 30 days, then contacted Santa Ana field office on Aug 10th, to find out that they transfered my file to LA on July 22nd for oath ceremony on July 24th. I never got any letter from USCIS though. I then made an info pass with LA field office on Aug 12th, to find out that they canceled my oath ceremony on July 24th, with no explanation, but they say they would check and let me know. My guess is the scheduler in Santa Ana made it too close, the guy in LA didn't have enough time to prepare my file, so he canceled it. Today, I went to USCIS LA again. This time they asked me if I would be available for Aug 28th oath ceremony, and hand me a print out right there. However, whenever I called the 800 number, they told me to be patient and wait 90 days.

So if you passed the interview in Santa Ana or LA, but not receiving you oath letter in 2 weeks, you should contact USCIS LA right away, cause they might have just left you or forgotten your file along the way.

Hi there, N652 is given to you after you take the interview, it's a standard form given to everybody stating your English and Civic test results as well as if you're recommended for approval or not. Sometimes, the IO is not an adjudication officer and cannot make a decison without referring to a supervisor, in that case a cross is put on the box: we cannot make a decision on your case, same box is checked if docs are missing or futhr review required. If the interview and test go well, there's a check near congratulations, you're approved. I only used the N652 to get my oath letter at the window, I don't believe it's of further use.

I got my passport today in the mail, it's finally completely done for me. Yay!!! :dance: A great thank you to everybody on this forum and lots of luck to those awaiting their interviews and oaths. I can tell you now that the journey looked more difficult than it was, just be a little patient and you'll be done in no time. Peace to you all! :star:

Hello guys, good day to all. My scheduled citizenship interview last July 10th was partly good.

*She asked me why we moved 3 times.

- I said when I moved here with my wife she use to live in a one bedroom in a basement with bathroom and kitchen everything in same place lol, and after that we moved with her brother, he lives in the countryside, its lovely place but my wife she didn’t want to stay there cause it was far from her job, after that we moved to a 2 bedroom apartment its nice, but with my new job we thought about buying her cousin house its lovely house with 3 bed room. We moved there I get laid off work. So now we are renting his house and soon we are thinking of buying it because I found a good job hop will last for long.

*She asked me do I have any paper shows that we live together.

- I showed her the lease that we have with my wife cousin. She said anyone can do this paper. I said that’s all what I have but you are more than welcome to visit if you like 2.

*She asked also, why we didn’t file for taxes last year together. I file last year as 'married filing separately'

-I told her that my wife has a business with her friend and she told me to file by myself.

After all this she give me a form;

- passed the US History and English Interview,

-uscis will send you a written decision about your application.

I haven't heard anything yet,

*How long will it take before i can be scheduled for oath?

*Is there is anything I can do?

Please advice thanks for your help

*is there is any way, where i can check the status of my case N-400 online?

Normally, it should be delivered to your current address. Try not to move before this thing done. I've seen at least 3 persons at my local office complaining about not getting any letter from USCIS, eventhough they inform USCIS their new addresses right before they moved. If you does not receive your oath letter within the timeframe that other people in your local office received theirs, make an info pass with your local office asap. That's my personal experience. Don't even bother to call the 800 number, they will almost always tell you to wait 90 days.

Normally, it should be delivered to your current address. Try not to move before this thing done. Like Meogia said, you should get it in the mail unless your DO operates differently. For New york City for example, they give it to you in person on the day of the interview if you take the interview in Garden City. If you take it in Federal PLaza, you have to wait for the letter in the mail. It all depends on your local office, some have same day oath, and in that case you become a USC on the day of your interview. They give you the oath letter on the spot and you wait a little while for the oath letter and ceremony.

Cookiee, I took the 2 extra pics because they were mentioned in the checklist but the IO did not ask about them at all and had me sign the ones I had sent in with the N400. Maybe it's in case they lose them? I'd take 2 extra ones regardless, if they don't ask for them ,you can still use them for your passport. Best of luck!
