I had the craziest week myself, my labor got incuded on Friday night, it took 18 hours and I had my little daughter on Saturday at 6pm, all went well, got out of the hospital on Monday morning, which was quite something, had to keep telling people I needed to be out by 9am to make it to my interview!!

I went home, left my baby with my parents and hauled downtown with my husband, the interview was so easy, no need to be worried at all, I waited a few minutes, we went over my application, added my daughter under the children section and then I had to read and write someting like George Washington was our first president. Then I got asked the civics questions, I think it was how many voting members in the House, The question about John Roberst in the Supreme Court, which ocean onthe East coast, and three more, I can't remember, I was having a hard time not falling asleep since I hadn't had any real sleep for days with the birth and the new baby. It was super easy, nothing to worry about, got the letter that I am recommended for citizenship and was told to wait for the oath letter now.

Does anybody know how to find out where the oath ceremony will be held and what the upcoming dates are for San Francisco?

I would like to estimate how long it'll be...

My wife's interview was today. Took about 20 minutes, no issues..she was told to expect the oath letter in a couple of months (which seems kind of long). Me on the other hand have not received my interview letter still, BUT I was told the letter was sent on 23rd and the Interview date is August 6th! So keeping my fingers crossed now and updating below.

I am done with my interview and it went off well. The entire interview was over in 15 mins.

Couple of question were asked from my application.

I was asked 6 questions.

1. Name one war fought in 1900? World War I

2. Who is father of our country? George Washington

3. How many voting members house of representatives have? 435

4. For how many years we elect a representative? 2

5. when do we vote for President? November

6. Who is the Chief Justice of Supreme Court? John Roberts.

Reading and writing test were simple.

Read:

Who was the first President?

Write:

George Washington was the first President.

Then I.Officer said I passed and he is recommending for my petition to be approved and I was told that I will be receiving the Oath letter in 2 to 3 months and he also said it may not take that long. He handed over the N-695 FORM. Now the waiting period starts.

We cant find my wife's green card. She is not sure if the officer took the green card or not. She does have the approval letter that says oath will be scheduled but the green card is no where to be found.

Did the officer keep the card or is it lost? If lost, this will be a real set back since getting a replacement takes 3.5 months! We are real bummed.

I'm sorry to hear your wife has lost her green card. It's not customary that the IO takes it at the interview since you have to turn it in at the Oath Ceremony. Plus you would need it if you travel abroad between interview and oath.

You'll most likely have to reschedule the ceremony. Explain the situation in the rescheduling letter; that you have to wait for the replacement GC.

But maybe you will still find the card after all. There is always hope.

Really sorry about this mishap! Maybe you'll find it before the oath ceremony? I know this is obvious but you should really look for it again and again as it seems unlikely that the IO kept it. You know how the things we lose tend to turn up in the most bizarre places!! Also, maybe you could contact the IO directly to check with her/him??

Sorry to hear of this setback. Have you tried looking through her passport, or under her drivers' license in her wallet?

I methodically put all my documents away before I left the interview, because I have a propensity to misplace things if I am in a rush. I didn't care that the IO had to wait a minute for me to do it.

Maybe you could make an Infopass appointment to see if she left it at the interview. Just a thought.

I'd appreciate it if someone could repost the timelines with updated info. The last posting of it used an old copy from before I posted my updated version on 17 June. Thanks!!!
