I was finally able to talk to someday @ USCIS today. She was nice and stuff but all she told me was that their system is down and not be able to give whole a lot of information.

But, she said that she can still see my information on their system and that means my file is still @ NBC. And not yet sent to the local office…It really is frustrating L I was really expecting it at least this Friday…


Should I worry about that..?

i would not worry yet, they are within their timeline. try to call again another day, they and their system are iffy!

Mailed N-400 March 6th via priority certified mail and Rec'd 9th (confirmation by USPS)

NOA rec'd: 3/19/2009 (date 3/16/2009, priority 3/9/2009)

Biometrics rec'd 3/26/2009, appt 4/9/2009

Hey Gyenigun, don't worry about still being at NBC, the most important consideration is the speed of your local office. NBC could send it tomorrow to your local office and if they're quick, you could get the interview letter real soon. In my case, my file is not at NBC anymore but at my local office since April 17!!!! But because they're stll dealing with old files, trying to handle the backlog from last year and because I live in Brooklyn, the biggest borough of New York City, my wait is longer!!!

So let's wish for the remaining interview letters to come in this week ;)

If I remember right, you can call the 800 number and select 2, 1, enter your receipt number

Out of curiousity, should the automated status mention anything about a biometrics having been done?

February 13, 2006: I-130 filed (US Embassy, Dublin, Ireland).

April 18, 2006: Interview date received.

May 02, 2006: Interview (US Embassy, Dublin, Ireland). Visa approved.

June 14, 2006: Moved to Charlotte, NC.

July 20, 2006: 'Welcome to the United States' letter received.

July 21, 2006: Applied for SSN.

July 29, 2006: SSN received.

September 05, 2006: 2 year Permanent Resident card received.

I-751

April 09, 2008: Mailed I-751 to TSC.

April 15, 2008: Check cashed.

April 16, 2008: Case transferred to VSC.

April 23, 2008: Biometrics appointment letter received.

May 10, 2008: Biometrics appointment.

June 28, 2008: Moved to Clearwater, FL (Filed AR-11 and I-865).

March 04,2009: 10 year Permanent Resident card production ordered.

April 24, 2009: Mailed N-400 to TX Lockbox.

I don't think so, the automated vocal message gives you the exact info available on the USCIS online status. In other words, you'll get the same message till your done with the whole process since they're not updating that!! (a lot of applicants are now USC but their status still says: application received and pending!!)

If you talk to someone however, they're able to give you more info. Also, when you provide your A# to someone at USCIS,in all likelihood, you're talking to a 2nd level officer who has access to your most up-to-date info. Good luck!!

I took DoxATL's advice and the trick worked!

I just got off the phone with the 2ndlevel officer. She told me I am in queue for an interview, they're just waiting for an available date. She also said I would be receiving a yellow paper, if I haven't yet.

At least I know now, I'm getting there. Thanks very much for the advice, and for everybody's tips. I've been reading this forum and it's amazing to see how everybody just support each other.

So, for those who need some answers, get the phone, tell USCIS you never got a receipt # and they'll transfer your call to someone else who has some info. As DoxATL said, the 2nd level officer doesn't know what you're calling about, this time, just ask the person about your case status. They're also very polite.

bump! Anybody??

So my wife received the Interview letter three days back, but I did not. Applied at the same date, everything happened together but my letter has not come.

1. Is anyone else in the same situation?

2. Was anyone else in the same situation and the interview dates were different?

The interview is in another city, so this will be very inconvenient to go there twice!!

I called USCIS, they were useless as expected.

Hello everyone, we received Mary's interview letter today. It is dated may 22 and the interview is scheduled for July 20. Could someone please add this update, I know I'd just screw up the list.
