Hi ikyang.... I've been checking the March thread everyday to see if there was any updates to your timeline as my office is also Memphis. I'm glad they are not way behind - I have heard they are slow....

Here's a link to form 4506-T, Request for transcript of taxreturn. There's also a number on there that you can call to request the form.....

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf

Good luck and please let us know how your interview in Memphis went!

Yes!!! The interview letter finally arrived! Sooo happy...

Congrats... :dance::dance::dance::dance::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

maybe i should call them and see if they mailed anything to me... I know there is no order (although they claim so), but I and a couple others are approaching the 5-6th week and now that the timeline is filling out, I know it's not such a long wait.

:dancing: :dancing: :dancing: Congratulations to our latest interviews!! Yay!!

@ Bianca, a double congrats goes to you. Maybe you should keep your interview date and inform your IO, you may be able to do the whole process very quickly? Just a thought.

@Queendlee, yes definitely call, there's nothing to lose and hopefully you'll get some good news. Don't settle for the first customer service service person though, ask to speak to a higher level one so they can really locate where your file is at and give you an accurate status. Good Luck!

Cookie and Tini27,

I got my interview letter on 05/16 and it was scheduled on June 23rd @ 9.30 am. Could you please add my timeline and I do not want to mess that up. Thank you Cookie. Tini27, You will get the letter soon since our both biometrics were scheduled at the same date you should be receiving the letter before end of this week. Good luck.

Jsnearline, I get what you're saying and thank you for the suggestion but think that'll only work if you have a lot of applicants from the same DO. In my case, there are very few, so I check on them regularly and even pm them when needed to gauge the status. Other forums are organized by DO and they're ok, I got lots of info by going there. I like VJ best though, it's user friendly, lively and colorful and has a sort of human connection. I made friends to share the journey with: WenRi, anci78, Queendlee...(thank you guys!!!) We share our stories and there's some serenity in knowing that you're not alone. By coming here and telling your story, you're somehow part of a community. When I read doxatl or kyngsilva from the other months, even if I'm not in their filing month, I feel a connection and can relate to their experience. I love Stella08's posts, she's nice, helpful and very thorough in her explanations.

So, I'd love to do the timeline per DO but in my case it wouldn't be very helpful because of the little number of applicants.

Also, maybe we need to take the drama out of the whole thing and try -if possible- to enjoy the journey before the destination. Let's look at the bright side, we're completely done with K1,K3, I129,I485,I765 and all those other forms, we're just waiting for sweet N400 and believe me she'll come through, maybe not in 5 months in my case but before the end of the year, :energy: !!!

Bottom line, let's not freak out for this procedure, we'll just give it more anxiety than it deserves especially given that we don't chose the cards. Aren't we lucky to have a place to vent!!! Sometimes, I ask and answer my own questions on this thread but I don't care cos I know if I am wrong, someone will be nice enough to point me in the right direction and that's all I ask

Relax, guys and enjoy your summer!!!

Tini,

I agree, it is nice to just have the connection with people in the same situation. Even though I can understand that a lot of people want this to go quickly (after all it is nice to finish the process), I also think that patience is a virtue. Maybe it is a little different for me as I have been here for 12 years already and have technically been eligible to apply for citzenship for about 7 years now (I personally didn't see the need for the rush and was not willing to give up my German citizenship which I have found a way to retain at this point). After having been here for such a long time I see the advantages of the citzenship in a few aspects, mostly because I am having a baby soon, but really the green card worked for me just fine.

This isn't a race, everyone will eventually finish this process!

Good luck to all!

Anci78

Tracy & Tarik,

I'm glad the online status is working for you. I was using it with my I485 and I765 (got regular emails from them at that time) but for the N400, status has not changed at all since NOA was sent Mar 16. Good to know that you can actually see sthg going on.

When you say file was touched, you mean the date on 'last updated' was changed, right? Nothing more?

The online status does not work for me at all, I signed up for the email alert when I first received my application number, neither the check your sttatus online page nor the email system works for me, it has never been updated since I first checked. I will check again after I am done with the interview, maybe then it will change? Who knows...

For anyone else like myself who had questions about the updates on the website: I called USCIS because my receipt number gives an error message. They said they have had difficulties with updates to the website for a long time and therefore some people's cases do not appear or are not updated at all. They can provide you updates when you call though. They told me they are about to mail my interview letter (i forgot to ask the date of the interview), she was kinda hurrying me off the phone.

So if you get no updates, infrequent updates or your number does not work... don't worry, just call!

Mailed N-400 March 6th via priority certified mail and Rec'd 9th (confirmation by USPS)

@queendlee, good for you!! At least you know that you'll be getting it shortly. When I called last week, they said I'm in the interview queue, gonna call them again by the end of the week!!

@gyenigun, if there was a way your wife could go to the interview with you, it would be better, she might not be called in but some IO's have inquired and even talked to the spouses. So try to bring her with you if you can. Don't worry, if you can't.

I hope MOTU will jump in and hep you with the question about taxes, I'm not sure of the answer to that.

How did you get around the customer service reps who generally like to say that they cannot give you any more information than what the online status says?

my receipt number would not work when i called them, and so i selected the option that my receipt was last. I explained to the guy my receipt number does not work online, he had no idea why, so transferred me to someone above him who asked me my entire life story to verify who i was, and then told me just that ma letter regarding my interview will be mailed soon and that's about it.

Queendlee,

there are many cases like that, where the online status does not work once they sent your case to the local office.

So you should be receiving your interview letter any day.

Congratulations!!

I just tried calling to get a more up to date status and got nowhere. Those who get errors on the website are lucky because they can actually get someone to look at an internal system.

I recently applied for Social Security Disability and my confirmation number didn't work on their website. They were much more receptive to status inquiries over the phone than USCIS seems to be. Social Security was much faster too. They processed my case in just over a month.

I've been using this cool website where it gives you all the shortcuts to talk to a human rep. instead of holding endlessly on the phone:

http://www.get2human.com

Just look for uscis by clicking on the letter 'u' on the left side of the screen, it'll give you all the prompts to be able to get to someone.

And firmly ask to talk to someone on a higher level, I did it last week and got through.Good luck!
