Hey My hubby called USCIS today and Some lady told him our case is on process and when he asked him how long does it take then she replied 6 to 8 months :( .. She even told him he is calling so earlier.. why is so like that? I think she didn't understand my hubby's question or she didn't know anything about case status... I hope she was faking by saying I-130 takes 6 to 8 months... Hey Paris did they told u, ur case is assigned now? I m getting worried now....

Did you specifically asked if it was assigned to an officer?

Technically, when they receive your petition, you case is being processed.. even when it is sitting in the mail room with no officer working on it. Call again and clarify.

2nd, in USCIS alone.. they say that their target is 6 months.. which means 6 months before they approve the I-130, NOT 6 months until you get your visa. Also, this is only a target adjudication timeframe, it is not cast in stone. SO, that means they can take as long as they want. Like in VSC... However, it seems that things are going faster lately so don't worry too much but don't expect too much. It's just about management of expectation. One day soon, the NOA2 will come to your mailbox too.

Keep reading about the NVC process and the interview in your respective country. This will help pass the time.

Hi Nor!! Relax, breathe.... breathe... breathe... things are going to be okay.

Now, don't stress yourself... we all knew that this wasn't going to be an easy road. just be glad that you've already started the process and it's not 2006. I used to hear that people get visa after 2 years of waiting... and now some cases are going fast. There is always hope.

Don't let this process kill you, not good for the health... not good for your budding marriage. Keep focused on the goal, imagine yourself with your hubby already.

Cheers!! NOA2 is coming!!!

Mrs. Simps, if she said your case is in progress, that means its on a officers desk. 6-8 months is their Well Stock Answer.

Ignore it. Yes my case has been assigned to a officer, and sounds like your has been too!!!!!

Some of the people at USCIS will actualy look up your case to see what is truly happening, then you get the ones, Your calling to early, or its in the mail room, can take 8 months, etc. etc.

Call at one time, One anawer, call 20 minutes later, A totally different answer.

Seriously dear when i heard from my hubby about how she answered him i felt like punch on her nose and tell her how we feel without our loved ones.. These people don't know what they are saying.. I was so shocked that she said 6 to 8 months for I-130 approval.. I wish i can kick her out and take away her job so she won't be able to hurt anyone else feelings...sorry but can't control on my feeling lolzz

Mrs. Simps like I said, call one time, you get 1 answer, call again 20 minutes later another answer. yes their processing itmes show 6 months, but look, Jan. Feb. and several March filers already approved, so its a good bet most of March filers cases have been assigned to a officer, but keep in mind that officer also has many other cases on their desk to process. But its still good, its not in mail room, but asssigned to a officer, We all know the horrror stories, we just have to get around them.

try not to read the negative posts, and start thinking Oh that can happen to my case, each case is different.

Call again in the week, I bet you get a different answer.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

met my hubby in okcupid.com, i filled out a free registration for the free personality test. he sent me a message and we started talking real fast... that was last Sept 14, 2008. we would talk for hours and hours 9-10hours on the phone, sent numerous emails and text msgs. he proposed to me a couple of times through YM, but I told him to propose 'properly' whatever that means?! Hhahaha... on Jan 27, 2009 he came over to see me. We had an awkward hug and a more awkward first kiss... a few weeks later, on Feb 18, 2009, we got married!!!!

Super fast romance... we're dying to be together soon!!!

All you can do is concentrate on your case, prepare for next step, and dont listen to all the negative stuff of I.O. at USCIS, posts and etc. Jan. Feb.and several March filers already approved, approval will come, we have no control over the timing of NOA 2, but it will come, and I think very, very soon.

So keep it all positive, and your journey will be smoother. We all know the TIMELINES, but lately they have been proved wrong. so that is a positive thing.

On the bright side, Tngirl got married on my 20th birthday. Hahahaaa. So now you will forever have to live with the fact that you married on my birthday. And it's called Okcupid for a reason maybe? :P

My love story was completely uncalled for and random. Me, being the extreme nerd that I am, I used to be highly addicted to this online RPG called Ragnarok Online. And the server that I played was Canadian, and then I met my now husband there (why an American but on a Canadian server, I will never know). I didn't actually find out he was American until 6 months after we became friends, but even at that time, I didn't care because I simply was not interested in him.

So years past, and we become even closer, and we become the friend of pair that can talk about everything. And in the middle of 2007, he started dropping hints that he liked me, like a wild fire. ''If you were here, I'd date you in a heartbeat.'' Well needless to say, he was stuck on being together IF I was there, which frankly would never be possible because the USA was not on my list of places to live. :P

So, one night in early December 2007, he asked me to pick a random day in the month to come. I picked the 17th, which he wasn't too fond off. So on the 7th, at 1am, he confessed to me, and asked me to be his girlfriend. It would have been really sweet, if I already hadn't been passing out on him. I woke up with an e-mail that morning, ''I hope you're happy about us.'' Then it took a few hours to figure out what he had meant then it hit me.

And yes, I get that we've married young a lot. My husband is only 21, but we're best friends, and we just fit. We bring out the best in each other, and we sort of spent the most critical growing years together (or so I think) and last but not least, we're madly in love with each other. <3
