That's our situation, and I just wanted to know if anyone was in the same boat.

I have a girlfriend who filed for her ficance, and they had interview in 2007, and still no answer from USCIS.. additional AP. So she just married in Egypt, came home to Tx. and sent cancellation letter for K1 and also sent her I-130 petition to bring him here. They got tired of run around and no communication from USCIS. "I think the K1 petition would of expired with USCIS by now anyways"

May I ask what happened? Your welcome to PM me if you dont want it on forum. If not, its fine. I still wish you the very best in a successful journey.

Truly happy!!!

I don't know how to PM people!!

I know a lot of people have negative things to say about immigration lawyers and I've had a positive experience so far with mine. Just don't know if the advice was correct or not. I read that Mark Ellis article a while ago about denied I-129's and then filing I-130 after denial not being that great of an idea. But, the way I read it was it's negative if the I-129 denial was ignored and not dealt with in any way, shape or form. I'm not 100% sure we're doing the right thing but kinda just rolling with the punches, and if need be, will move over there. The I-129 process made me so tightly wound and stressed I'm focusing on the positives this time around and not getting stressed. I guess you could say I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst as a way to keep myself sane!

Since we're being nosy, may I ask why you cancelled yours last year?

Of course, its a matter of public information anyways. Well I was married very young and stupid, 24 years ago, the marriage was not valid. and no record was suppose to be on file according to my parents and their lawyer. Move forward to Nov. 2007, I married my husband, filed with USCIS Jan. 2008 in June 2008 found record marriage still on file with no record of a invalid marriage or anything showing. Still considered as legal as the courts told me. So I cancelled the petitions with USCIS. hunted him down from 24 years ago with help of law enforcement friends, internet and a warden at a state prison back East. I filed for divorce, and Judge signed on divorce decree 61 days later.

Then we were going to re-marry ASAP and along comes Hurricane Ike, YUCK. Diaster, no water or electric for almost 3 weeks, damage to house, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY. So finally we re-married Feb. 2010 went to Paris for honeymoon, and came home and re-filed with USCIS. We are now 1000% legally married!!!!! Amen. And thank God!!

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Hi, welcome strega..

Give USCIS about a week to cashed your check.. The case # will be on the back side of your check.. but you need to add 1 for the last digit number, for example your last number on the back side of your check is 77, then add 1 to that number it will become 78. After that you can check your case status online at USCIS website ----> https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/caseStatusSearchDisplay.do . You can also create an account for you on this link: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/termscondi...ntextType=CU_EN

Good luck to all of us ;)
