Hello everyone,

I posted this on the main page but get no respond. Can someone please help me with this? I've received the following letter from USCIS (see below).

-------

Request for Evidence

On September 1, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

A request for evidence is made when an application/petition is lacking required documentation/evidence (initial evidence) or the officer needs more documentation/evidence (additional evidence) to determine an applicant's eligibility for the benefit sought. We may send you a request for evidence at any stage of our review. The request will indicate what evidence or information is needed for us to fully evaluate your application or petition. The notice will explain where to send the evidence and will give the deadline for your response. Your application or petition will be held in suspense during that time. If you receive a request for evidence and have questions about what you need to submit, you may call our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

I got the RFE hardcopy in the mail on September 15, 2009 and mailed out 6pm on the same day. I mailed to the following address as stated in the letter (see below).

USCIS - California Service Center

P.O. Box 10590

Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-0590

The RFE is set to expired September 27, 2009. The date is now is September 21, 2009. This mean I have only 6 days left. I called 800-375-5283 for "RFE Received Confirmation" but the operator say I have to wait 60 days for the system to update and there is nothing they can do to help.

Is there anyone out there that had this RFE experience? How would you know that they received? I checked on USCIS website and it didn't show RFE received.

Btw I mailed to the above address on a regular mail not certify or anything like that. Is this the same address that you sent your RFE to? On my RFE letter it doesn't tell you exactly to mail your RFE to clearly. On the very bottom of the letter it say the following (see the exact wording below).

"You will be notified separately about any other applications or pettions you filed. Save this notice. Please enclose a copy of it if you write to us about this case, or if you file another application based on this decision. Our address is:

USCIS - California Service Center

P.O. Box 10590

Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-0590

800-375-5283"

Thank you so much for your help! I'd greatly appreciated!

-Randy

Do you know if they signed for it? I sent mine, and when they got it, I had a signature of who signed for it. Turned out the officer who issued my RFE signed for my evidence packet.

Thank you very much for responding to my post! Well...I sent mine in a regular mail without any confirmation delivery of sort.

Once they get it , the mail room will deliver to the officer, once officer gets it, he or she will send you a email of Evidence received case resummed processing. Did you send a copy of the RFE with your evidence? and did you write your case number on everything you sent them?

No I haven't write the case number on the 2 things that they requested. All I did was placed the original RFE papers and 2 requested items in the envelope. On the envelope I wrote as the following:

From:

Randy and my home address

To:

USCIS - California Service Center

P.O. Box 10590

Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-0590

I should write the case number on the envelope and the 2 items but didn't because i'm to quick to mail out.

always get a delivery confirmation on information you send that is time sensitive  and put your USCIS receipt number on everything you send, is it something that you can re-send overnight?

Randy09, I suggest you start keeping track of what's happening in your case in USCIS. I don't know if they still receive calls but generally I suggest calling once every 15 days. Just so you don't get caught with nasty surprises. It's bad enough that they sent you RFE ... twelve days allowance to comply is just adding insult to the injury.

Anyway, March Filers... I have more USCIS ####### stuffs for you guys.

I got my GC today! Whoo hoo!!! The thing was it was mailed to me from some doctor in California. Yep!! Believe me when I tell you I got the surprise of my life when a hand written mail came to my mailbox addressed to me! Hell!! I don't know anybody here to receive mails from a real (non-computer generated mails) person. SO I opened the mail, thinking maybe it is my docs appointment for follow up shots. When to my utter and complete surprise there was a note inside and an unopened mail from USCIS. The guy says he got it in his mail and thought that it was something important... he didn't know how it got in his mail. It was super duper nice of this guy to send me the USCIS mail instead of sending it back to the post office. So there... I guess my USCIS journey just could not end the usual way. Hehehe. Started off with a NOA1 that was not printed due to some computer glitch and ended with my GC in some dude's mailbox in California.

Good luck Paris.. congrats.

Lgg, come on grab that interview date already!!!
