I went to a local registry in Calgary, AB to get a copy of my birth certificate.I was told that I had been going by the wrong last name for 20 years. My last name is McGrath, capital M and G, but apparently I was registered as Mcgrath. I was then told that if I were to request a birth certificate with the name ''McGrath'' that I'd have to pay the $35 for the new certificate, then I would get some forms in the mail to 'amend' my last name, and then I'd have to wait 6-8 weeks for them to process it. I was so angry leaving the office, why should I have to pay for something that they messed up.

I'm going to have to amend my last name. But if it comes time for me to mail in my IV package before it's completed then I will send in my original birth certificate which is in all uppercase. The new birth certificates are like, ex. Gerald Thompson, Lacey McGraw. Before you couldn't tell. So I'm going to call around on Tuesday to see if they can fix it first because it's their damned fault. And then if all else, I'm going to amend my last name and send in my old one. I may include a letter which says, ''May I have the originals back.'' I wish they were happy with certified copies. :(

Edit: As well, if they mess up my married name, I'll be furious, it's 4 letters. D<

i'm glad the ones they forwarded to the National Statistics office.

Finally got a touch today morning at 4 am . Hmmm , i have no idea who would work at 4 in the morning and specially on a weekend . Someone is trying to make some extra money !

So when i called 4 days back , lady said that my case was assigned to the officer and now i get a touch . Is that good or should i start preparing for some news that i might have to send something to them .

Anyone know how long before this nightmare gets done at CSC .

I just got a email from USCIS i was so excited until i opened it, it was a RFE i'm so sad i went over everything with a fine tooth comb b4 i sent it in.......... 5 months of waiting for a RFE...... does anyone know how long after i send the Evidence will it take..... what kind of RFE's have ya gotten if any..... thanks for ya's help and thank god for VJ r i would be lost.....

Kristy

It really depends on what kind of evidence they are asking. What's the RFE for?

I would suggest to just send it out as early as you can, just in case they need lots of time to look into it.

But Paris was told it will take 60days to resolve an RFE. Am I right, beth?

Yes Hon, according once they receive your evidence CRIS sends a message, case resumed processing and states a answer within 60 days."See my signature"

Mine is coming up Aug. 8th, fingers , eyes and toes crossed for a answer this week.

APPROVED!!!! Just received notice by email!!!! NOA2 July 31, 2009

Congratulations!!!!!
