I was reading something about them bettering the immigration for families. Let me try and find it.

Here. It should be reliable...but not 100% sure.

US immigration targets family reunification

June 05 2009 by Liam Clifford

Democrat Congressman Neil Abercrombie

Lawmakers in the US are proposing legislation that will prioritise the reunification of families when considering US visa applications.

The legislation would help to bring the families of people on US visas from other countries to join them. Representative Mike Honda says that US workers are much happier and healthier if they have their families around them. The importance of this "cannot be overstated", he added.

The rules would allow Americans to apply to have their families move to the US and would see the number of available US visas increase. This would be possible as unused US visa quotas will be passed on to the following year for use in the reunification scheme.

The proposed legislation is, however, proving controversial in some areas of the US population, such as the Catholic Church, as it allows US workers to bring their foreign same-sex partners to live with them and work in the US.

Democrat Congressman Neil Abercrombie says the legislation will not discriminate against gay people and stated, "this is something we're not backing down on."

Abercrombie adds that the lawmakers wish to learn from American history and avoid discrimination of the kind seen in the past. He explains, "there has always been somebody...after they got here, then they wanted to close the door."

:blink::blink::blink: Hum, Happier families. Tell that to the people waiting here on VJ. The ones who get pushed aside for work visa processing, 2 months max processing for work visas, 6 months for ficance and family petitions, now whats next, Im not saying it.:whistle: God help us all.

Truly happy!!!

Wait, since when does the Catholic Church believe in same sex partner relationships?

I think it means, it's causing controversy because the new legislation would allow US citizens and LPR's to bring their same sex partners to the USA. lol

Well intersetering, cause USCIS does not allow same sex relationship petitions. This is something to watch and see how it developes. On a lighter note, how are you doing Dearheart?

at least the processing of work visas is ONLY 2 mths, otherwise if it was 6 mths like us, we'd be sitting here waiting waaaay longer

my real question though is HOW LONG is this going to continue for

when can we expect them to start picking up the family petitions again

Work visas are non-immigrant visas. Family visas are for those who are coming to stay. Different kettle of fish... different procedure.

Good morning looks like they have put aside the work visas. Approvals are starting to roll out again.

All we can do it wait, hang in there. Best wishes.

Beth,

I didnt see any approvals who you talking about sweets ?

when was the last time you called ? I am half tempted to call on Monday just to see what they say.

Hey Girlie, Nice to see you again, well a 2 year old little girl got approved, and few off Igors list.

I called last Tuesday to see if they have my RFE evidence, useless call, said system was not updated, but I did get signature and date/time of when they got it. They said to call back in a 1 week if still nothing, so I will call Wednesday if they dont resume prcessing of RFE or whatever. I think I will know this week, a K1 got RFE took 22 days for his approval once they got his evidence, so Im useing that time line, and 22 days will be Wednesday. Plus I did somthing else, but I will Gmail you later. Hope your back in the swing of things at work, and great pics. I will Gmail you later, got to run to market and hardware store, I moved the bow flew and lost a few screws somehow, oh well, off I go. Talk to you later Dumpling. And its nice to see you again seen Bets lately????? I will call her later this PM

Truly happy!!!
