I understand that but if you call them and they give you the run around, how does that work? I can't call -- i'm the beneficiary and my husband has tried to no avail...

if it's up to us to over see their work, wouldn't it make sense that they would make it an easier option? Right now, it's kind of like smacking yourself upside the head.

Well. I'll call next week and see -- I'll be able to next week no problem but it's frustrating. We're working all day and it's not easy to sit on the phone on hold or to have to call back.

PH, you didn't upset me at all. This system upsets me. The not knowing, inability to find out and the abject useless of the system that we're relying on to help us get through the process.

if I'm to be all that responsible for the actual processing of my files, then fine -- let me do it -- I'll bet you I'd be far more efficient, concise and friendly about it than those at USCIS. I'll set up a website updating system that'll work. Oh... and while I'm at it, I'll process mine and everyone else who deserves it as well...

They're processing it. If there's something wrong, they let ME know or US know not let us have to root it out for ourselves lest we get our cases deleted or closed.

okay... dear... breathe.. breathe.. breathe...

this is a tough journey, we're all here for you...

we've all gone through this phase... you feel frustrated, like the entire world is out to get you... (except for no_where_man, never seen him doing meltdowns, but he is a guy) it is normal... just remember to keep breathing and keep your faith. You'll never know when that NOA2 will come.

Are you prepared for the NVC already? I suggest you do this... the moment I was preparing for my documents.. waiting turned out to be less stressful coz I have other visa stuffs to work with. I know what it feels like to sit around and just wait and wait.. at least if you are working on the NVC documents you'd feel that you are accomplishing something for the visa instead of just sitting there waiting.

We know what you are going through.. everybody here does. I cannot tell you that if we handled it that we'd be any better. Remember petitions comes in thousands everyday... that's thousands of thousands of paperworks day in and day out. So.. breathe... my friend, we will all get through this.

Tngirl I love you to death, but if one more person tells me to work on NVC stuff, Im going to strangle them, LOL.

I work atleast 10 hours a day, my job is very demanding, stressful, and I have to follow procdure to the T. Even thru the work day, its so hard NOT to get wrapped up in this USCIS nightmare. I do everything but sit around and think of USCIS, Im constantly busy, but its alway on my mind, hard to get it off the brain. Once NOA 2 comes then people begin to breath for a while, then starts all over again. Meltdowns are a small part of this process, mixed with loneliness, and despair. Its all a very deadly combination for some.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Way to say it, Paris Heart!!!

Exactly... and no offense to anyone at all, but if anyone else tells me to 'pray', i'm going to strangle them!!! (I kid, I kid) but seriously, not all of us believe in god or turn to religion to get us through this -- it's hardcore semantics and logistics at this point.

And yes, like Paris Says... some of us work 10 hours a day, 7 days a week to make a good life for ourselves when we're with our spouses -- we don't have all day to make picture scrap books for the NVC right yet or hang on the line for USCIS, you know? It's all relative though so no offense is meant at all to anyone but the world does not revolve around one scope of being. Some of us pray, some of us don't. SOme of us have tons of spare time, some of us don't... never assume your reality is everyone elses' -- you'll be wrong...

Thanks PH... for stating this... it's also very easy to 'breathe, breathe, breathe...' when you have your NOA2 and are sitting pretty but some of us have RFEs or nothing at all yet.

It's all relative... from my little state of the world, to yours.

:)

Best of luck to all...

I don't think they'd do anything. The last time I called, the guy just told me. You know what I'm going to call today. And if they refuse to tell me any information then at least I can say I tried..I'm also going to take no where man's advice and see if he can call using another program. I just don't want to nag my husband...like, I don't want to stress him out. He's homesick enough as it is. >_<

Folks, all I was stating, its seems no matter what a person does to get them thru the day, work, school, gardening, school, or whatever, for some its always on their mind. Its easier to say: Calm down, or Relax, or just breath, but the reality is its easier said then done. This process becomes a terrible obsession while on this nightmare journey, Ive lost 27 pounds, and talk like a Chatty Cathy doll due to nerves of this journey. And only worsen since RFE.

Ive tried to be a Cheerleader for all in this process, but even the cheerleader loses her pep and energy. But most of all, this cheerleader is losing her faith.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

oh well to each his own... i'd rather be waiting for our NOA2 right now than dealing with our set of problems.

but we cope... that's all i'm saying. find a coping mechanism that helps you.. whether that be gardening, or praying, or going out to shoot people (oppss... not that, my bad)... you can't expect everyone to know the details of your life... but these are the standard things people do to cope. that's all.

yeah paris, sorry about the working on NVC, you're exempted from that since you have all your papers done already! :bonk: lucky you!

if u lose faith you lose everything

besdie it worsen everything else at that point ..if no way but to wait then we wait ..any other solutions ? no theres not ..we we keep together till we end with this ..thts the best .

I should just move back to the Philippines. Their petitions seem to be approved faster. :P

I know what you mean, sometimes I think I should go to Paris for 6 months and do a DCF, but I cant. I have a home here, dogs, and a horse, this is where I was born, I owe a house, I pay taxes, I pay my bills, I vote, I have rights here, this is the country I was born in, its my HOME. I cant live anywhere else. My husband dont want me to give up my life here, so what else can be done but this process. And along with it comes, loneliness, despair, negative thoughts, and sometimes depression. It effects every aspect of our lifes. I have a good neighbor, who checks in on me, lives next door to me for 15 years, he came over last night and said Beth, what is wrong with you? You work all day, you come home, never see you outside, and on weekends your buried in this house. What has happened to you? You never walk down to visit anymore, you never go with Chris on Saturdays anymore, "Chris is his daughter, she thinks of me as a adopted mother" we use to go and get our nails done, then have lunch, girl talk and etc. I dont even do that no more, its like your life is put on hold due to this process, and I will be the first to say, its not healthy. Weight loss, 27 pounds as of today, Im shedding like a Sheep dog, a nervous laugh, the only time I light up is when my husband calls me , or we chat on internet. Even this Memorial Day weekend, this is the first Memorial Day weekend in 7 years Im not having a party at my house, I dont feel up to it.

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Well, hopefully after everything is said and done, we'll be able to laugh. In 10 years from now, this will be a sad yet happy memory. I've become like you in some aspects, I don't leave the house as often and I'm often found vegetating in various places throughout my house. As long as this journey is over before next year, then I'll be a happy camper. I heard ages ago, when you married outside the US, they could just go there, no problem. But since 9/11 and what not, of course things have changed
