it was a misunderstanding. i said i never got an rfe, but it never said u have an rfe on the website. it turns out that they give u an rfe on the website first then u get it in the mail. if it is over 15 days then u are supposed to call and ask where is my rfe? so i was mistaken in saying that we were denied becuase of an rfe last time. we were denied because we didnt actually meet before filing. we were only chatting online. anyway i hope this all ends soon and i can be with my wife again. may Allah make it easy ameen. thanks to all of u

That's stupid. If on the website it doesn't say RFE and you get one, but you're not aware of it, then the petition is over if you go beyond the 15 day waiting period. That's EXTREMELY stupid. Wow. x_x This system needs to choke.

the best way to handle this is to always keep calling from time to time and to Inquire about ur case more than once per day `` the day you will call at ``

this way u get certain informations no doubt ...

hope we all pss tht process safely to the end ...

Well, the problem is, I can't call, they won't tell me ANYTHING and my husband can't call because he's deployed in Kuwait and he won't be back until July. I really don't want to wait until then, but there is not much we can do. My husband has tried to call with Skype, but the connection is really, really bad.

Well, should I just call myself and explain that he's overseas? ._.

And he's not allowed to have a cell phone while he's in Kuwait. It's pretty lame.

Im not sure if they will serve u

i tried once and the operator told me tht i must be the petitioner (stupid i know ) but their rules ..

but give it a try why not ?!

why not even calling NVC and ask if the petition ever made it there ?

some found out their petition approved and they never got NOA2 and only discover it when NVC send them to pay fee and so on .!

Yeah, I'll ask my mother in law to give them a call, and I'll talk to my husband about it, like Yahoo. I wonder if MSN will work. It's just so important that we find out. In July, we can call for sure, but what happens if we have an RFE and we let it sit for too long? ._. FJSDFS

GOD forbid if theres ant RFE`s ..it must be Answered in 30 days max as i remember ..

if the RFE is not answered ..the petition is denied and u will be given 15 days to appeal the denial ..if the denial wasnt replied to ..the denial is final

so i advise that umust find away to follow ur petition just like Beth did ..she would never know abt RFE`s unless she kicked their A**

Berniece, on my RFE it was originally issue May 2nd, and the notice was schedule to go out May 4th, but it did not, computer mess up. When I called May 8th just to check on case, they said RFE issue May 2nd, I said, have not got hardcopy in mail or even a email, well that call May 8th promted USCIS system to re-issue RFE, if I did not call, I never would of know about RFE. I finally got a hard copy mailed from CSC May 12th, and received in mail May 16th. They gave me till June 11th to submit the evidence they requested.

Oh brother!

Just another thing to stress about...

So, what happens is is that you can get an RFE but let's say that you're not calling every single day because oh let's say, you've got a life OR... you've been given the run around of "I don't know" from the person at the USCIS so... you give up and let them do their work...

Only to find out (too late...) you got an RFE that you weren't told about! And now your case is messed up or even canceled...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that insane??? Like they wouldn't email you/ update your online file or god forbid, send you a hardcopy in the mail?

I want to have faith in this system and get 'er done and all, I really do but seriously? #######??? It freaks me out that the potential is there for them to screw up so monumentally and the onus lies on us. Seriously now...

LGG, I did not mean to upset you, this is what happened to me, just my luck!!! Yes it is insane, the whole process.

They were schedule to mail out my RFE May 4th, but lady told me computer glitch, good thing I kept calling once a week for updates. Dont stress over it, but I truly understand your frustration first hand. Im starting ot lose my faith, and when I lose it, I have nothing left. But Im sorry if I upset you or gave you worries, I did not mean too.

as the petitioner/beneficiary, you are supposed to call them and have an update at least 1x week.

esp if your timeline of NOA1 is right about the same as us (Paris, Betsy, Etc.), because that means.. your cases are probably next in line. I didn't say... it is next in line but there is a big probability. Since you and your spouse have more vested interest in this petition, not the USCIS or their officer, you have to really find a way to contact them and be updated. so I'd really suggest you at least try and squeeze it in your schedule.

oh and by the way, there's really no "system" to speak about. There's no first come first serve basis, nothing... none of those queing orderly system. Think about it that way and you'll be less likely to have meltdowns. Again, I didn't say NO meltdowns, since these are pretty normal... but if you adjust your thinking a bit it might save whatever sanity is left. This process is tough since there's really no clear cut way to do it. Prayer helps a lot... and so does meditation and trying to keep busy while waiting.

Good luck!

Is there a way for you to prove that he is out in Kuwait on official duty?

Wow! Your case is getting tougher by the day... I do hope you'd find a way to get him to call USCIS.

I understand that but if you call them and they give you the run around, how does that work? I can't call -- i'm the beneficiary and my husband has tried to no avail...

if it's up to us to over see their work, wouldn't it make sense that they would make it an easier option? Right now, it's kind of like smacking yourself upside the head.

Well. I'll call next week and see -- I'll be able to next week no problem but it's frustrating. We're working all day and it's not easy to sit on the phone on hold or to have to call back.

PH, you didn't upset me at all. This system upsets me. The not knowing, inability to find out and the abject useless of the system that we're relying on to help us get through the process.

if I'm to be all that responsible for the actual processing of my files, then fine -- let me do it -- I'll bet you I'd be far more efficient, concise and friendly about it than those at USCIS. I'll set up a website updating system that'll work. Oh... and while I'm at it, I'll process mine and everyone else who deserves it as well...

They're processing it. If there's something wrong, they let ME know or US know not let us have to root it out for ourselves lest we get our cases deleted or closed.
