From what I was told you had to submit the recorded copy of marriage cert. A photo copy is fine, but must of been the recorded copy from the county "if married in U.S." or recorded copy from the country you were married in.

Lilies, do you have your hard copy from the mail yet? If so what is the CSC address listed on your NOA 1??? I think I will send them my recorded copy and letter with myrecipt number, maybe I can avoid a RFE.

Yes NVC will ask for a certified copy of marriage cert.

Paris, I don't know about the detail address because I didn't ask my hubby about that :P. Anyway, we got married in US, uhmmm, what is the difference between the regular copy and recorded copy of marriage cert? I hope they won't send a RFE notice because of that.. What about other friends here? Did you guys send a regular copy or recorded one?

A recorded copy is when the county files it, makes it official. Plus it will have a filing number on it. and also shows the date when the county recorded your marriage.

Oh I see.. When we got married at the court house they gave us 2 copies with a court stamp on it.. is it legalized copy? And if we want to have a recorded copy, do we need to ask them for that? or they usually give it right away?

Im not sure what the court stamp is. But they should send you a recorded original copy of your certificate. That takes about 2 or 3 weeks, mine took 2 weeks to receive the original recorded copy.

Lilies,

A recorded copy is your original marriage cert that was given to the court house so it made it official, that your married. On the back of your marriage license you will see the words Filed with a date and a time usually a week after your marriage date.. If you got your original back from court house, your fine then. I promise.

Hmm, I think I need to ask my hubby to call the court house.. We never received that copy until now.. Is it normal? or it depends on the states or county? We got married in OK..

You should of received the original cert. from the court when it was recorded like I mentioned 2 or 3 weeks after you married. Just make sure he sent a recorded copy to USCIS.

Yes, we received our original cert and 2 legalized copies right away after the marriage.. I don't have any idea what is recorded copy since we've never received it.. I hope USCIS won't send a RFE.. (keep my finger crossed) and I'll still ask my hubby to call the court just to make sure about that.. thanks Paris :)

Lilies,

A recorded copy is your original marriage cert that was given to the court house so it made it official, that your married. On the back of your marriage license you will see the words Filed with a date and a time usually a week after your marriage date.. If you got your original back from court house, your fine then. I promise.

Paris, I looked at my marriage cert and just realized about that :D:D On the front page there are words: "License returned, and certificate of marriage recorded subjoining the record of license issued and recorded in marriage book xxx at page xxx, on this the 16 day of January, 2009. "

So, I don't need to be worry since I sent a copy of that cert.. :star:
