Same as Cristy :) We did send engagement ring receipts but we werent GOING to cos we were going to get the rings after I went over on K1, it just turned out that we got them early :) As it was - the flippin Embassy didn't ask to see the new letters of intent never mind the ring receipts (or the half a ton of other papers, inc the affadivit of support, I dragged with me to interview, talk about a let down!)

Agreed - you can't plan for something you don't have a date for. We sent the insurance appraisal for the engagement ring and the letters of intent. No problem and nothing more was asked. I had my interview Friday amd they never even asked to see the originals of all the claptrap we sent for proof of relationship. It may have helped my fiance came with me for the interview, but who knows. They did want the I 134 and the new letter though.

  • 2 weeks later...

We have been making plans since filing. During my trip to meet Olga in person we priced wedding dresses (even bought one for 7240 Rubles)! Olga kept the reciept though as she needed it to receive the dress after it was ready which was after I left Russia.

In the suppliment about the meeting I mentioned that we purchased a dress and that Olga has the reciept and could/would produce it if needed. (I expect she will take it to the interview!)

7240 rubles at the time = ~$280USD

Furthermore that was a very akward day as I waited in the "waiting room" as many mothers and daughters came in and shopped...a couple came in but quickly left... I was the ONLY man in this building except for the 2 seconds the couple walked in and out!

Since you can only plan your wedding date you can not tell them before you get your visa. In my interview they just asked when do you think you will get married. They just wanted to hear a month or so. Have fun on your further journey.
