Hey there folks,

I just need some information about timelines. I have already had my medical (20th Jan '09) and I sent off my checklist to the embassy in the last week of January. I noticed on the VJ guides that I should expect an interview 10-12 weeks after sending the checklist but I'm starting to panic because it's been 4 weeks and I haven't heard anything from them yet. Is this normal? Do they send me conformation that they received it? I was going to email them but then I find out you need a special code so I called the embassy but hung up after 5 minutes coz the automated man didn't seem to be helping me. Is there one special code or can someone give me any ideas as how I can get this?

I understand that embassies have a way of 'losing' paperwork. I haven't updated my own timeline because to be perfectly honest, I have no idea of the dates we sent and received things. All I know is Naphtali and myself started this process in May 2008 and I am getting so sick and tired of waiting around as I know you all must be.

Can anyone help??

If you ring DoS in the US 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0 and speak to an operator there they can tell you if your packet 3 documents are on the system and if an interview date has been allocated what the date and time is. I used to ring them via skype much cheaper than the embassy helpline.

Also check out the interview thread and the between NA02 and interview thread in the Uk forum. It will give you a good idea how long other people are waiting.

Hope you hear soon.
