All I can say is one of you go visit the other .. spend at least 3 weeks together and get to know each other ... we had 5 weeks and it went like a blink of an eye, being seperated was the single worse experience either of us ever had to go thru and we both cried like babes for 2 days prior to his leaving ...

Crying like babies...I have to completely agree with you, that is the absolute worst feeling either I or my fiance have felt either...But now we're together, THANK GOD!! No more goodbyes and it's o so wonderful...Best of luck to you and your love, I hope you will be together again soon if you are not already

I completely relate with these posts. Wes and I.....it just clicked instantly and when one of us has to leave its so hard. He just left last week and I find myself crying looking at his side of the bed or thinking about how hes not here when I get home from work. Visiting each other though was the biggest most important thing ever. I would strongly suggest you get a tourist visa and come over for a vacation, see how you like him and the area you will be living in. Or get him to go there (or do both!) so that he can see your area and get to know about your customs and culture. It will be important in your life together later on. But as for the visa....they won't accept it without evidence unless you both have really really good reasons for not visiting (medical or religious).
