Hello All,

I'm a mexican working in CA under a TN visa for almost 2 years (my visa is valid for 3 years and expires until April 2010. I just got engaged with an American citizen I've been dating for 1 year and 8 months and we want to plan everything really well so I don't have to stop working or lose my job while I'm waiting for a permission to work. Since I'm allowed to work until April 2010, could we get married before that? Also, I know we have to file an I-130, an AOS and an EAD (which I heard can take a max of 90 days). Does this mean that we can get married at the beginning of 2010 and then apply for the EAD and while it gets approved I can keep working on my TN? Does anyone know the approx cost of all of these? Now, I also heard that in order to leave the country and be allowed to enter it again, I would need an Advance Parole (which can take 6 months to get), but we were planning to have our honeymoon in Italy... Is there something that we can do to solve that problem?

Thanks so much for all your help,

Alejandra.

On the costs? Check the guides above, also, on the USCIS site they list the cost per form.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS
