For k3 fillers household for 2 peolple it´s 14,450 or 18,212? ( for the 48 contiguous state of Columbia)I checked on http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864P.pdf

Is this real ???? which one we have to apply ????

14,450 is the 100% of poverty line, that is for military personals, so if you arent in Armed forces 125% of poverty line is applicable that is $18,212

Yes, they are real - went into effect Feb 13, 2009, and will remain so till spring of 2010.

Trinket gave you the answer which value you need to apply according to your situation. (military/non-military)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Yes, its true, trinket is correct you would be measured against the $18,212 unless the USC is part of the Armed Forces

It is VERY possible. 5 years ago I made just a bit over that and supported myself and my 5 children, one just must be very frugal and realize all the "stuff" we Americans are accustomed too aren't necessary.

IF YOU ARE FILING THIS YEAR DO YOU USE YOUR IMCOME FOR 2008? IF THAT IS THE CASE I MISSED THE REQUIRED INCOME FOR 3 BY 1,248.00 dlls. MY FATHER COULD BE THE CO-SPONSER BUT HE WAS LAID OFF ON NOV. OF 2008 WILL THAT AFFECT OR CAN HE STILL SPONSOR MY HUBBY , MY DAD IS CURRENTLY RECEIVING UN-EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS BUT WILL PURSUE HIS JOB AGAIN ON APRIL, 5 2009, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Without using any kind of government and/or community assistance? Hats off to you if that is the case....I can't possibly see how 6 people (5 kids + 1 adult) can make it on a little over 18K.

If you are filing this year you must use the most currently issued(published) poverty guideline, which is for 2008. If your salary is not enough, you will need a co-sponsor. (You still fill out one I-864, and so does the co-sponsor). Keep in mind, that whoever the co-sponsor is will have to have income to support not only the # of people in his/her family, but also the intending immigrant. I am not sure if unemployment benefits can be used to prove income sufficient to sponsor an immigrant....it may not be allowed. In that case, you may want to wait until your father is employed again before submitting the financial sponsorship forms.

It depends on what state you live if you can make it with that amount of money. I am having trouble getting to 125% over the poverty line, and I have food, and a house, and I go to school, etc. Kansas is pretty cheap to live in.

I really think they should make these things accordingly to state in which you live, because I know that in big cities they will pay someone working at McDonalds $10/hr, and here they make $7/hr, so it is a huge difference.
