Some are real. Some are fake. How to tell the difference between the two is the real challenge.

None of them are real. There are no scientific studies proving their claims of speaking with the dead.

The way I look at it is.. people pry to god every day without a single ounce of "scientific proof" that he/she is real... yet it's done. To dismiss something outright because there isn't any hard proof available at this instant in time is mad! Think about all those things they couldn't prove 100 years ago 50 years ago but can be proven today..

I'm a skeptic myself but I wouldn't rule things out like that. I do however think a big majority of these mediums are milking the cow for all she's worth and there maybe a few out there that are the real thing.

Actually, I'm one of the most un-gullible people you'll ever not meet. However, I'm also open minded enough to not discount things I don't understand 100%.

And actually, there is way more to the electricity story than I told here, I just couldn't be arsed to type it all out. But yes, it did involve some "building work" and stuff.

As a scientist I am trained to question the validity of such claims. It does not, however, preclude the falsehood of the claimants. I'd say that likely the majority of such claimants are bogus just due to the way people are out to make a buck by nature.

Seeing things that aren't in the visible spectrum for humans is a super power or the sign of a nut. I can understand people claiming they can do some odd things but it's amazing how anyone can believe them based their powers of persuasion alone. I wasn't there but I know bullsh*t when I hear it. If you had any convincing evidence to back your or his claims I'm sure you would had a better assertion than "you have to know him to believe in him".

Animals not too far away from humans can detect different EM ranges as well as auditory frequencies from us. And the genes that encode these abilities may not be 100% understood but they exist. And are not (in the cases we do know of) all that different from ours.

Here we go again. Why must I look up stuff to back your least credible claims? As a scientist I'm assuming all of these things are in peer reviewed journals. Why aren't these people on TV making money with some demonstrations?

So he would talk about this and one day he just piped up that he could see auras too. He'd always been able to do it. So we asked him to read ours in the lab and he did. There was nothing SPOOKAY about it, he just concentrated for a bit and told us what they were. I genuinely believe he could see them and I do think that the energy we humans radiate can be seen, by some people, around us as different colours.

Gullible people. I can see your aura from here and it's kind of magenta with a hint of a vision of the Virgin Mary.

I'm the same way Mags. To me it seems absolutely insane, but I have no clue what's going on so I can't really say it's true or not. One time we did mess with this girl who said she could see our auras. First we asked her how far they came off our bodies. Then we went on the other side of the wall in our backyard and walked by. We told her to tell us who it was by the color of the aura she could see over the wall. Well...we got a good laugh out of it

I'm not sure if I believe or not. But I think its possible. I think we all have an ability to sense things, I think some people to a greater extent than others. When someone gives you the willies, there is no objective reason for feeling that way, its just something that you sense. Oftentimes, you find out that your gut was right.

My girlfriends and I had lunch once and decided to have palm readers for shits and giggles. I don't think they were legit. I was really skeptical and didn't say anything once they arrived. When I was having my cards read, she said I was going to be engaged very soon. Chris came for a visit and proposed 3 days later. I dunno. Maybe it was just a stab in the dark, and she happened to be right. Or she really saw. I dunno.

My friend who was pregnant at the time, they told her she was going to have a boy. It was a girl.
