The hubby is from Newfoundland but we currently live in North Bay Ontario!! Yay, lol

Minus 33 with the wind chill today!! OUCH!!

(My California blood doesnt like this cold)

Well at least the cold let up a bit today!

I was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I consider my hometown Sudbury, Ontario. hmmm interesting facts about here...

Well Sudbury is the Nickel capital of the world, we have a giant nickel thing to celebrate it. They filmed parts of the movie "Men with Brooms" here.

Alex Trebeck is from here, oh and so is that hockey player that played for the Vancouver Canuks that gave that other guy a concussion n stuff. I forget his name right now.

Oh Jeffrey Buttle is from here too.

I will be re-locating to Lancasater PA in Jan 2010 if everything goes to plan

Grew up in Choiceland...small town of about 350 people (at that time, is now booming due to the potential diamond mines in the area) about a 2 1/2 hr drive NE of Saskatoon...moved to Saskatoon in 1985 and moved to California 2008...

For the wrestling fans, the Undertaker is also from there as well as Gene Simmons' wife...legend hockey player Bobby Clarke was a friends' cousin...

Gene Simmons would not approve of you calling her his wife.

and... :ot2:

OMG, you're right! lol...too funny...ok, how about significant other?

Born: Halifax, Nova Scotia

Raised: Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia (Nova Scotia's TRUE masterpiece) :)

Interesting facts about Lr. Sackville: Uh, this is gonna be hard. James Sheppard of the Minnesota Wild is from there. So is nutjob stand-up comedian Nikki Payne. The guy who invented the process of making paper from wood pulp is from Middle Sackville.

Oh, the first season of "Trailer Park Boys" was filmed in Lr. Sackville.

I tell people I'm from Halifax. It's much easier.

Also lived in Ottawa, ON (which I absolutely hated), Toronto, ON (for a summer, people work too much in Toronto) and Calgary, AB (which I absolutely loved.)

Woot, Sackvegas!!

I was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia as well, and raised to age 12 in Lower Sackville. My grandparents are still there actually. 12 Years old and my family up and moved to Miramichi, New Brunswick. Some facts about the good ol' 'Chi :)

-Some of the best Salmon fishing in the world

-We have a HUGE German population in the summer - they own a lot of cottages

- We have Canada's largest Irish festival every summer

-We were a pulp and paper city, with REPAP being the largest mill (before it was taken over and shut down), but we made the paper for Playboy and Time Magi zines :D

I went back to Hali for University, and I still call Nova Scotia my 'home' though - NS girl always at heart

I went back to Hali for University, and I still call Nova Scotia my 'home' though - NS girl always at heart

Which university? My parents met at St. Mary's. Dad was Mom's tutor for a few math courses. Then he swept her off her feet and off to Bermuda.

Since Mom was the youngest of ten, I've got loads of family in Nova Scotia. I spent most of my summers in Dartmouth, Truro and Oxford.

I'm from Welland, Ontario. I usually just say Niagara Falls, because its right beside us and most people (American's) know what i'm talking about. I go to Brock U in St. Catharines, so its my second home :star: I've lived here all my life

No way, i go to Brock too, well I'm graduating this year. I'm from Port Dover Ont, (home of Friday 13th biker day) but have been living in St. Catharines while going to Brock.

His oldest sister and her family live on Denman Island, one of the northern Gulf Islands. HIs parents moved there after they retired.

Cool info. about Denman: (stolen from wikipedia)

Denman and Hornby Islands are two outposts that have been described, with some justification, as the "undiscovered Gulf Islands." Big-name celebrities have recently bought property here, complementing a population made up of baby-boomers, artists, craftspeople and a laid-back (if wary) mishmash of alternative types.

I'm from Vancouver Island! Comox Valley actually. Apart from a few years living in Victoria, I've been here all my life. Denman and Hornby Islands have some unique places. Tribune bay for one. I haven't been there in years but it would be great to go back. Also, it's amazing the local artists we have around here, with those two Islands included. We have art festivals, and shops that sell local pieces. The Comox Glacier is right in our back yard. You can see it from just about everywhere here. Beautiful mountains surround us, as well as many views of the ocean.

I'm moving to SC...100 miles inland from the coast. No mountains to see, no ocean to look at. But none the less, SC has a beauty all it's own. I'm looking forward to moving there... :)
