Hello fellow VJ'ers,

Im just worried lately about my NBI clearance since my interview appointment at usem is fast approaching..I just renewed my NBI clearance last DEC. 23, 2008..Do you think guys, a 2-month something old NBI clearnce is okay? or do I still need to get a new one?

Has anyone here experienced this before? please help...Thank you so much.

07-07-08 - filed I-129f and sent it to VSC

08-25-08 - NOA1

12-10-08 - hard copy of NOA2 rec'd

12-17-08 - NVC received our case

12-18-08 - 02-03-09---- stuck at NVC

02-04-09 - NVC RELEASED/FORWARDED OUR CASE TO USEM, AT LAST!!!

NBI Clearance validity is one year.

malou was right, but to make sure u can give them a call (it's better) or email them. GOOD LOCK TO THE INTERVIEW.

just make sure your nbi clearance is the green one for travel purposes

ROC mailed to USCIS -- June 10, 2011

finally free of USCIS paperwork!

And make sure your NBI states " TRAVEL TO USA" and not just "TRAVEL ABROAD"

Sorry, but I don't necessarily agree with this. As per the US embassy guidelines - Travel to USA was never specifically required and I seriously doubt if there is such a thing.

3.15.2014: Mailed I-130 Packet for Mom and Dad

3.21.2014: Received email notification with case # for both petitions; case forwarded to NBC for processing

3.21.2014: Check cashed

3.22.2014: Hard copy NOA1 received

4.08.2014: Both I-130 approved (notification received via email) - It only took three weeks!!!

4.11.2014: Received NOA2 approval notice in the mail.

5.01.2014: Called NVC to ask for status of paperwork. Advised they received both application on 4.28. Advised to call in 30 business days for an update.

6.02.2014: Email notification received from NVC that shows parents' NVC case number and instructions to pay AOS Fee and fill out DS 261.

6.03.2014: Paid AOS fee ($88 for both petitions)

You are correct about the U.S.A. thought.

It must say:

For travel abroad:

It is good for 6 months for local employment

1 Year for travel abroad.

NBI CLEARANCE: Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance for Travel Abroad Purposes from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name, married name, and any aliases or nicknames ever used, including different spellings of all names ever used. An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record”, "No pending criminal case” or “With derogatory record.” NBI is located along Taft Avenue in Manila. You may contact NBI at (632) 523-82-31 to 38. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is considered valid only for one year from the date it is issued.

TRavel to USA may be something new. I got my NBI last October and they still didn't have that option: Travel to USA.

TRavel to USA may be something new. I got my NBI last October and they still didn't have that option: Travel to USA.

omg! i hope it remains the same....coz i myself have recently renewed my NBI clearance sending it all the way from uae- i will use this for my I129F. my mother is yet to send it back to me and so far "travel abroad" is whats written for the purpose of NBI. Like what others have said, validity remains for 1 year from date of release.

ps can someone out there who have been actually through interview and was required to file "another" NBI stating "travel to USA" only- i want based on actual experience so ill know what to do... althou if anyone have been subjected to this, perhaps it depends on CO? or which consulate? Its important to me that i gather the correct document since iam not currently in pi. It takes more weeks/month to request any documents for me. thank you

And make sure your NBI states " TRAVEL TO USA" and not just "TRAVEL ABROAD"

Hello fellow VJ'ers,

Im just worried lately about my NBI clearance since my interview appointment at usem is fast approaching..I just renewed my NBI clearance last DEC. 23, 2008..Do you think guys, a 2-month something old NBI clearnce is okay? or do I still need to get a new one?

Has anyone here experienced this before? please help...Thank you so much.

Sorry, but I don't necessarily agree with this. As per the US embassy guidelines - Travel to USA was never specifically required and I seriously doubt if there is such a thing.

yeah, im sorry too...but i beg to disagree that there is such thing as "Travel to USA" coz if they do have one....there will also be "Travel to Canada", "Travel to Saudi", "Travel to Singapore"..blah blah...which will make things complicated....so that's why its just "TRAVEL ABROAD" which means its okay to travel anywhere outside the Philippines.......as simple as that! Peace!
